Nope...I actually started getting claustrophobic the first time that I rode and I looked for a button for reasurance, but there was none. It would have helped to at least know it was there in an emergency.

There are cameras in the capsule’s for security reasons!! One major reason is damage to the capsule!

The are always monitored by a CM!

To confirm, there is no E-Stop in the cabins! Like the statement was mentioned before, this is a very technical ride. There are 36 other people going through the same experience as you! If there was an E-Stop, the ride would be shutting down constantly!

There is an E-Stop that the CM's can stop the ride for any reason!

In addition, the ride will not start until (1) all of the capsules are occupied and closed, (2) all of the doors are locked and secured and (3) there is no movement for 3 seconds in the capsule area!!

There are no cameras in the capsules for monitoring purposes or otherwise. The ones used for the commercial were specially mounted in the capsule for that reason......

When I was at Disney last weekend, I saw the Mission:SPACE commercial on TV. I love the part when the kid says, "Are we still in the building?" LOL

I love when a ride gets this hyped. Remember when Tower of Terror was new? The promotion for it was great.

Looking foward to trying Mission: Space. :sohappy: see if it lives up to the hype :)

It does... the 1st time..
2nd time.. still has some excitement..
3rd time.. some of the excitement is gone...
4th time.. you know the dialogue...
5th time.. you fall asleep on the ride..
6th time.. you pass it up...

Test Track anyone? ;)

Yeah, unless you're showing it to someone else, Space gets really old really fast. Though I know some of you won't agree, and that's fine. But I agree with ntn.

I have been told by a couple of people who worked on constructing the ride that there are definately no cameras on board monitoring riders. That would make sense, considering there are 40 ride capsules, with a potential of 160 riders at once. There is no way a CM can monitor 160 cameras at once LOL. There are as you say cameras etc montioring the actual ride bays. :)

I guess there is no audio monitoring. When I was on it the other week a woman had forcered her young daughter onto it. At the last moment she started to realise her mistake and tried to get them to open the capsule, but the ride went ahead with the poor child onboard.

LOL yeah, they must have HUGE camera monitoring stations with hundreds of security staff monitoring them. I guess the situation there is differnet too, as in casinos they are looking for cheating/safety etc. The scenario in MS would be for them to watch everyones face looking for any signs of distress. That would require every face be watched all the time. Something that wouldnt happen in Vegas.

However, I can tell you without doubt that MS has no cameras inside for monitoring guests. :)
