I was at DHS yesterday for the first time since last Spring. I was in down town for the Destination D event and headed over to DHS to ride ST2.
I noticed 2 details that bugged me and thought I would ask what was up.
1 - What happened to Sid Cahuenga's junk truck that used to be parked next to his house? Has this been gone forever and I never noticed? It was always in the little brick drive way on the left side of the house.
2 - Gray soundstages. I know the small portion of the soundstage facade that shows on the front of the Star Tours ride was painted gray to blend in with the style of the new show. But I also noticed the GMR facade that is above the Commissary / Sci-Fi building was also gray. Finally a huge section of the GMR on the Streets of America side (seen prominently at the dead end street opposite of the San Fran section ) is also ALL gray. It looks awful. The peach/pink soundstages with green highlights are reflective of the Hyperion backlot buildings back on the Disney lot. This gray is just ugly. I hope its primer for a work in progress paint job.
