My understanding was they lost their *** on the downtime. Maybe being revisited with the loss of DME? But what bad optics if they start up the vans before the parking trams.

I loved them. I really hope it's true!I feel like this is big news!
People liked these I think.
Or it’s an about turn of planning.I want this to be true for the simple reason that it will be a slap in the face for the site that shall not be named.
True. But they also didn't liquidate their fleet like he said ..Or it’s an about turn of planning.
Like the trams, they get moved around due to the runDisney events.A while back I spoke with a CM that was a Minnie Van driver. This CM indicated they would be back and they were parked because there was no way to retrofit with plexiglass due to side impact airbags.
I noticed a couple weeks ago they were moved from where they had been parked before. They were moved out near some of the parked trams.

Pretty sure @Disorbust meant 'downtime' as in the period when the Minnie Vans haven't been operating due to COVID.What downtime? They were generally very hard to get at all hours of the day and whenever you did get one, they were almost always completing another trip before they could come get you.

Vehicles that aren't being driven regularly need to be (at the very least) started and run and moved around about once a month otherwise they'll have issues. (Dry-rot on the tires for starters...possibly brakes that sound like they're grinding, too.)Like the trams, they get moved around due to the runDisney events.
Or at least the ability to operate and cover their cost. Like park admission i expect the price to be raised to cover cost of shutdown. With the shutdown of Magical Express, Disney isn’t going to leave Uber and Lyft to make all the money on the airport-WDW routes. I suspect Disney will offer a flat price for airport transportation via the Minnie Vans to your resort for a couple hundred bucks.
Mgmt couldn’t announce this in January right as Magical Express was shutting down bc it would be too obvious. But now as we get close to summer, they’re probably licking their chops to tap into this “revenue stream.”
Not only that but they recently (last 6 months or so) installed new Minnie Van signs at the parks.I believe if Disney was planning on shuttering this for good they would have at least pulled any mention of them off their website. Still says temporarily unavailable. ala Dining plan and Annual passes
They're trying to recover more than cost. I have a hunch they are also trying to cover lost profit.Or at least the ability to operate and cover their cost. Like park admission i expect the price to be raised to cover cost of shutdown.
They still had carry costs during closure
They didn’t pull down the website for ESPN Club until they announced its replacement. That said, I simply believe the people who say they’re coming back based on their track records.I believe if Disney was planning on shuttering this for good they would have at least pulled any mention of them off their website. Yep, many times I just had to Uber or Lyft because I couldn't get one. What downtime? They were generally very hard to get at all hours of the day and whenever you did get one, they were almost always completing another trip before they could come get you.
