Monday - overview
Crowds were thick, but not completely unpleasant. Rides like PotC and HM had about 30 minute stand by. Jones was hitting 90 and Splash 90 to 120. Pooh and IaSW at 15. Matterhorn about 30 mins.
Cinema and Plaza were both still under cloth.
I rode BTMRR - they have 4 cars running now (1-4-5-6) and FP was back up. But surprisingly the line wasn't bad even without FP. At 12:30 our wait time was about 30 mins.
Most of the day was pretty generic. The day went Tarzan, Aladdin, JC, a nice lunch at Bengal, BTMRR, PotC, IJA, Pooh, HM; all that from 10:00 to 3:30ish.
We made it over to the 4:45 showing of Snow White. Fantastic job and the stage coordination was awesome too. After the show I had a headache which is unusual for me. So I took a couple Advil.
We rode IaSW and the rest of the group rode Tea Cups. After that we got into line for MH (Fantasyland side). While in line, my hands started to itch. Very weird.
After we decided to eat at Pinnochio. While walking, getting food, and eating the itching got worse, my hands and other parts turned red and itches like mad, my chest tightened, and I felt like I had no strength. So - my very first ever trip to First Aid.
Great group of people there, they got me on oxygen and shortly thereafter I left Disneyland a new way for me to, by ambulance. Not the best way to see the back side of Main Street - and I don't remember much anyway - I was just trying to breath.
In case you are wondering, I am better. Took the Dr's a couple hours to stabilize me and then they kept me for an additional couple hours to make sure I stayed stable. DL told my wife to call them when I was discharged. They sent a van to pick us up from the hospital - drove us back to the park and from there - home.
We might hammer DL from time to time on Show appearances and the like - but the people element is still strong. Everyone (I had 3 nurses, 2 paramedics, and a bunch of others I could hear but not see) was beyond nice, helpful, and took great care of me. Then the pick-up and ride back was nice. Our escort told us 'behind the scene' stuff (like how he gets to watch them repair Pirates and cool things like that.) He took us straight to our car. Beyond A++! What could be have been a sour ending to the day actually ended on a pretty nice note.
So, that was an entirely new adventure for me. I am strong, healthy, no allergies, and have never had a reaction to anything. The Dr's have no clue what triggered the problem, maybe the Advil, but I survived; after them pumping 100mg of Benadryl (normal dosage is 25) and other stuff that I can't remember. I missed the Fireworks and Fantasmic tho - bummer.
