Mini Golf

Has anyone played the miniature golf courses (Fantasia Gardens and I don't remember the other one)? I know the Magic Your Way packages come with a voucher but wanted to know if taking some time of your day to go play a round was worth it? Also, what bus would you take to get there if you were leaving a park or the Beach Club Resort?

We have played them both, Fantasia and Winter Summerland. We like to play with our 6 year old granddaughter and I think the Winter Summerland, which is next door to Blizzard Beach, is probably more for little kids. Fantasia is fun also and is across the street form the Swan and Dolphin Hotel entrances. If you are looking for a little down time it is a nice break and change of pace.

I should clarify my previous post a little. I meant that if you were taking young kids that the Winter Summerland was the better of the two because of the characters, but we adults also thought it was a lot of fun. It is the theme-ing I was referring to. Their are two different sides to it and you choose which one to play. One side is all winter with snow and Christmas type theme and the other is a summer motif.

I have played the Fantasia Gardens course and would say it is a great way to spend some down time. If you are staying at the Beach Club you will find that its a short boat ride over to the Swan & Dolphin and then from there a quick walk over to the courses. I would also add that the price to play is pretty inexpensive compared to the other activities around the World so MYW passes or not it is worth the price of admission.

We always use one of our "off" days to spend a day at Mini-Golf. :) Both Winter Summerland and Fantasia Gardens are fun. Usually if we're at Winter Summerland during the summer, we'll play the winter side, and if we're there during the summer we'll play the winter side. If you choose to go to Fantasia Gardens and have kids with you, make sure you play the Gardens side and not the Fairways side. Only the Gardens side is themed, and the Fairways side takes about twice as long to go through. Usually playing all 18 holes of any course takes about 2 hours for our family of four (unless we're playing Fantasia Fairways).

It will just be my 68 year old mother and myself. Which one do you guys recommend? We are going March 3-11, 2011. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks:wave:

Personal preference, can't say I prefer one over the other. Winter Summerland is more "cute," very Christmasy and beach-themed. Fantasia Gardens is more classical and grand, both architecturally and musically; lots of Greek columns, white sculptures, music notes, references to Greek gods, etc.. I always get a kick out of the subtle references to classical music at Fantasia Gardens, but one advantage to Winter Summerland is that it has two themed courses instead of Fantasia Gardens' one (its other course is unthemed). The advantage of that is if you choose to play a second game within 24 hours, the alternate course is half-price. Personal preference, really.

EDIT: Found it. Here's two photo pictorials on another site of each course... then you can decide which you like better.

The Fairway side of Fantasia Gardens is for people who actually like to play golf. It's a pretty tough course.

The other side is very whimsical.

Winter/Summerland has both courses on the whimsey side, depending on whether you want a beach motif or a Christmas motif.

Personally, I prefer the Fairway course, but I like all four.

Played both, and liked both. I think I would choose whatever is most convenient for you. We played Winter/Summerland course when we were staying at Coronado Springs, as it was very close.

We played Fantasia Gardens this summer when we were staying at the Swan. It was right next door, and we combined the golf with a walk over to Beaches and Cream for dessert. We did not play the fairways course (the tough one), because we didn't have time.

I think you should base your choice on convenience and location. Either are great.
