What happens when you have a FP+ for this and it goes down? Did you get to reschedule? (Hope so! )It went down when we were on it once. I heard it happens a lot. Later in the week we had FP+ reservations and got an email it was down.
Doesn't happen all the time, though. A lot of down times are actually relatively short and depending on the ride, guest related. Rock N Roller Coaster goes down a lot due to scared people before the launch and they ride stop to remove the guest. It went down when we were on it once. I heard it happens a lot. I know I'm old and probably getting feeble minded, but, I did not understand a single part of what you just posted. Can I get a brief summary? You know Cliff Notes type!FL was an absolute dumpster fire so I rent around the castle to AL. I've been in line for it when it's gone down but it wasn't for multiple hours like earlier. Missed it I suppose
If a post was developed every time something broke down for a few hours, we'd run completely out of cyberspace! Especially when you consider most of us are sitting at home, it is really not likely to be generating any answer.
What happens? Nothing. Rides go down in every theme park in the world. You just go ride something else. Mine Train would never be shut down during the day to save money, all the Cast Members are still there. Relax.Pooh was also down. What is newsworthy is the train was down on the day thy Disney introduced higher ticket prices... what happens when you are in MK on a peak day, crowds are crazy and major rides go down either for maintenance or because they go tech... what happens then?! Do you get a refund down to a normal ticket day? It's all very well charging you extra for more crowds, but when main attractions go down on a oak day, well, you certainly are being ripped off then! I know in some cases it can't be helped, but surely if you are paying extra to help 'spread demand' and disney have to close rides which means demand is spread onto other rides, well, you just aren't getting value for money. Not that you were in the first place.

There is no quantifiable way to do this, regardless of the price structure. You can't say 7DMT is worth more than CoP, or HM is worth more than BLSRS. There is a point where adults have to accept that, no matter how magical the destination, things happen.

Totally agree that things happen.
I've just spent a week in Orlando. Things did happen. 7 dwarfs went down, ;space mountain went down, pooh went down, splash went down. Fantasmic has a broken lift, the dragon didn't work one night, reduced pyro.
I don't mind really. I've spent a considerable time in the parks. From 2000 until 2002 I was a cast member, I get that incidents happen and safety is paramount.
All I am saying is that Disney should not be feeding BS that these price increases will help spread crowds. Also that Hollywood Studios has less attractions today than it did a year ago, yet prices have been driven up. Fantasmic performs with regular issues. It's fairly audacious to put price rises in place because of new experiences coming - we don't have them yet. Disney are harping on about Rivers of Light, avatar and star wars... well we can guarantee price hikes will come when these eventually open - so don't use them as a solution now... construction isn't finished on one project and hasn't started on the other!
As for no quantifiable way of putting a price on attractions - they used to. I know that was a different time though... that was a time when the Disney name stood for quality.
If you want to go back to an e-ticket structure even, now people would just complain that "The new rides are only for rich people!" or whatever else. And if an e-ticket goes down, you can still do another e-ticket. You aren't getting anything back. You sign that you won't get it back. And you can say "that was a time when the Disney name stood for quality," and maybe they have declined, but they are still heaps above other attractions, locally and nationally and internationally. Their name is a standard, and you don't have to go, you don't have to like it, and you don't have to spend your day talking about it.
