Mine Coaster Ride Through.

Once again, you are overly pessimistic and wrong. The carts will swing, and the two dimensional CG versions of the dwarves are not the animatronic versions going in the ride.

Can you explain why they decide to show it off in that clip - whilst in the clip at D23 they did? Can you explain you think cardboard cutouts are good - I mean real classy - when you don't know either.

I don't know why they don't show it in the clip, that's not my department. But I know both.

I have a very hard time believing that this attraction will feature animatronics. I fully expect animated figures, a few simple movements like the majority of figures in The Little Mermaid.

I don't think it will be full animatronics because the ride moves too fast for that. There will be very well-done figures that make simple movements...and have to do that over and over again as each train rides by.

I think the queue is going to be very impressive...like you are in the Dwarves' mine and examining all the gems and jewels in their mine carts. I think it will be dazzling.

But, this attraction is going to be pummeled by the usual malcontents for the next year and a half until it opens because it's not intended to be a big E-ticket thrill ride. This will be a cute little coaster geared towards those of us who love Snow White and aren't really into the big thrill rides. Yes, there is a need for an attraction like this. I am really looking forward to enjoying this attraction with my family.

I also think the best part of this attraction is going to be its mere presence in the middle of the Enchanted Forest. The hills, the little cottage, the trees, and the energy of the train cars whipping around with people cheering and hollering as they go...that's going to add something really special to the New Fantasyland area. We've never seen anything like that.

Can't wait to see the hill built and the attraction completed. I bet it will look GORGEOUS from behind the castle walls...making the whole FLE area look wild and forested like a wilderness.

I cannot wait!

LOL. I was wondering when you'd be back "Patty". You do realize that all of NFE so far has been "that type of attraction" that you are talking about? They just fulfilled it X3... so no there really isn't as much of a need for it at this point. And the MK is in desperate need of an E ticket, particularly since one of the E tickets as falling apart *cough* Splash *cough*. Also please note that E ticket doesn't always mean big scary (As in Disney "scary," which is tame by every other amusement park standard, which is fine, but Disney doesn't really make too many actual thrill rides. But I digress...) thrill rides. Though it could certainly use one of those so attract adults and those above 5.

That'd be all well and good if the train was actually moving quickly. It also ignores other coasters that do have animatronic figures and extended show scenes (one is being built in Florida right now). Not being able to focus too long on an animatronic could even have the potential of a heightened illusion as the eye would not have time to focus on how its nit an artificial movement (part of what made the Yeti so spectacular).

And when can we get a list of "the malcontents?"

if this is done right there is a potential for this to be a tremendous addition to MK, possibly one of its top attractions IMHO
This is the kinda thinking I like!!! Why complain about something before we even experience it? I choose to believe it will be awesome until something forces me to believe otherwise.
This ride looks beautiful to me and I look forward to riding it..... in 2014 lol

This is a great post and my feelings exactly. I think the new style of construction in FLE is going to enhance the experience 10 fold for feeling like you are in a different world. SDMT being the center piece to it all. I would have liked them to finish it sooner, but oh well. The way you described the new presence of the hill with the train whipping around and what it will add the FL makes me smile. I can't see how it won't add to the magic of WDW.

I am of the opinion that anything in Fantasyland should be geared for families and children under 8. So I have no problem with what they are building. If it was somewhere else in the park I would want more thrill. I do think MK could use a nice new E ticket and my ideal location would be where the grand prix raceway is now. Or is it the tomorrowland speedway? Either way it blows and is outdated. It doesn't even fit the theme of Tomorrowland. It has to be horrible for the environment. At least make the cars eco-friendly, maybe use electric or a cleaner burning fuel source. That would vaguely fit the Tomorrowland theme of the future.

I also think a sweet go-cart place (like the old malibu grand prix on I-Drive) would totally be awesome. Possibly by the WDW speedway or maybe over by Winter/Summerland mini golf. But that's the 12 year old in me talking.

Sorry totally went off on a tangent.

Why should a land be crippled with such a limited appeal? It's the exact opposite of what Disneyland was about. It's entirely possible to impress other age groups and not resort to vicarious enjoyment without thrills. The Seven Dwarfs Mine Train could easily be more expansive and impressive without being more physically thrilling.

Yep, and as I said in another thread, so could everything ever conceived to be built! I'd like R'nRC to be twice as long, and wish ToT was a 25 storey drop (if not for that 200 ft. Florida height thingy). Anyway, even if something more gradiose was desired, there are always footprint and budget restrictions. Besides, I'd rather more money be allocated to the themeing than just the track layout. I can go ride roller coasters above parking lots anywhere. That's not what I expect, nor want, when at WDW. Yay for 7DMT just the way it is. :)
