The problem there is that there are way too many inexperienced drivers who use the cell phones therefore they are already not as good and distracted on top of that. The kids come with the driving experience for most and should be less a potential hazard just because you should know a thing or two about driving by then. I have seen far more drivers with children who are paying attention to their surroundings than I have people gabbing on the phone going sideways and 20 mph and not stopping at red lights.
Spidey, spidey, spidey... you must learn how to take me! I don't know... all my near "hits" were because of the kids... obviously nobody's going to outlaw kids in the car! I'm sure it's just a matter of time before the phones are outlawed everywhere... but I'm going to be so... I can't think of the word. I do a lot of my calling from the car because I'm in there so much. I know I probably shouldn't... but it's a great way to multitask. On the way home from dropping off the three oldest at school.. and it's quiet! You should see me trying to make a phone call at home ("yes, I was just needing to schedule a follow up for ... DANGIT I SAID TO GET OFF THE TABLE! AND IS YOUR ROOM DONE YET?")
