I am sorry if there were any posts on this that I didn't see but does anyone know why Millionare closed. It always had a long line, and it seemed to be popular. I loved it. It was my favorite Studios attraction. Also does anyone know what is going in there I heard something about Midway Mania, but I don't really know anything about what it was I just heard the name. Any info would be greatly appriciated. And again I am sorry if this was already posted.

I miss it too. My father was down here this past weekend and he was woundering what happen to it. And I had to tell him that it was gone and it will sadly never come back. Disney has not told anyone yet what they are doing in there. So we are going to have to wait to see what they are going to do with the area.

I miss Millionaire too. On two seperate occasions, at the end of the "show" I was watching, I had the top score in the audience (why I couldn't have done that in the middle of the show, so I could be in the hot seat, I don't know. Grrrrr...) Even when we went in the off-season, it always seemed like a popular show, maybe there was little to no line waiting, but as soon as the doors, opened, people flocked and the show always seemed to play at near-full to full capacity. And of course in the peak season there was always a line. I can only guess that, with so many other scheduled shows in MGM (most of them in MUCH larger venues), maybe Midway Mania will be more of a continuous loader-type of attraction, where people can be constantly moved in and out. It's always a slight hassle to wait on line, but when that line isn't moving at all, for a half an hour at a stretch, it can feel interminable. It's a psychological thing, but I think more people prefer a line that moves slow, but is constantly moving, to a line that stays perfectly still and then moves a lot of people all at once. It's not so bad when the line moves every 10-12 minutes, but a half-hour or more? You wanna rip your hair out.

I liked Millionaire but not sad to see it go. I am all for change, as long as it is good.. The new ride sounds interesting... Hopefully it will be a suitable replacement.

Well, we can speculate. Disney never closes extremely popular attractions. They must have seen a decline in attendance numbers for the show. Also, they were looking for a place for their new attraction, currently being referred to as "Midway Madness", and they can use all of the sound stages (some of which are empty for most of the year) together. Lastly the show was linked to a program that had kind of run its course. It wasn't really relavant anymore. So I think it was a combination of all of those elements.

I made the hot seat twice and got thisclose to winning a cruise! So yes I will miss Millionaire. MGM could use another "for everyone" ride, it seems that there's plenty of room and no need to close Millionaire. Whatever, the new Midway ride sounds interesting. I am curious about the theme. With all the Nemo rebranding of attactions, I expect there to be something for The Incredibles given its success.

GOD I MISS THAT!!!! The last two trips I made it to the next hotseat spot and then it ended! I was determined to make it this last trip, but it was gone! It is sadly missed in my household!

So is there any work going on in that sound stage now that WWTBAM is closed? Or is this another case of Disney closing something without replacing it with another attraction?

I miss it. But think about it. Who does it appeal to but the hardcore fans? It may be a fun, indoor attraction, but people who don't know HOW to get in the Hot Seat won't. Did you notice that most people in the seat were from Florida? So they know the method.

A new attraction called Midway Mania is set to replace Millionaire. It is supposed to be a ride through similar to Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin but be themed to the other Toy Story characters- it is supposed to have different rooms with different types of Midway games in each of them, hosted by the different Toy Story characters. Don't know when it will be completed.

Yes, I knew about Midway Mania but has constructed started or will there be a wait? And if so, why close Millionaire early?

I was never big on Millionaire. I think its time had come and gone, and I am looking forward to something cool headed into that space.....Now if they would only bring back the backlot tour and the animation studio to their former glory, we would really have a great park to spend time in.

Don't mistake my question about its closing as support for Millionaire. I just hate to see something closed when there is no active work to replace it. That's all. I agree that it has run its course.
