That would not be surprising, because Tracker is essentially part of the Disney PR department. Free trips around the world and early access is contingent on reporting in a certain style.

I have definitely seen him be critical of Disney. Not overly but he isn't all pixie dust.

I've had experience with Disney and seen what is required first hand.

He may not be all pixie dust, but more than enough to stay in the Disney PR dept.

And for the food, well it is ok to not like everything on the menu. But he will know (and been told), where positive comments are required. And SWGE will be one that counts.

Anyway, I don't want to derail the thread, so back to Falcon.

It seems like the negative reviews are coming from those who might be taking the whole idea of "success" way too seriously. As others have said, those complaining about being gunners and it being too distracting aren't using the far easier automatic mode.

It’s almost like this is a fundamental problem with the ride and with many (all?) “interactive” theme park attractions. Theme park rides and video games are very different media and encourage very different modes of audience engagement. They don’t meld well.

Still does depending who you ask. You do still have Chewie and Yoda makes an "appearance" in a certain area. This land draws form more than just the films too. The TV series and comics even.

So I hate Star Wars a great deal, and I will admit this all looks pretty good. Seriously though why Jim Cummings? He is one of the most overused voice actors in the history of voice acting. The only thing I hear when that character is talking is Ray the firefly and/or the boat driver from Scooby Doo on Zombie island. Like I have nothing against Jim Cummings but I'm sick and tired of hearing his voice in everything.

He's been doing the voice for about 15 years...Yeah, he is overused, but changing it now would be like walking in to Toy Story and having Woody voiced by somebody that isn't Tom Hanks. Even if they do a good impression, it sounds wrong to fans.

Other than the video footage being 'interactive' - how does the ride compare to Star Tours? How is it a different/improved experience? Is the screen right behind the glass or is there some distance for a better illusion?

The vast majority of voice roles are done by a small group of voice actors, so it could be argued that most of them are overused.

I think Hondo was a great character choice for this attraction, his sarcastic sense of humor works very well for something like this.

It still does. It just that this great character’s story arc is done (Until Star Wars #51: Attack of the Rebel Zombies).

I prefer the original characters also. I grew up with them so I understand wanting to have them in the new immersive land. And I’ll admit that some of the new characters (Finn and Rose come to mind) are underdeveloped. I do love Rey and Poe though. We still have Chewie, C-3PO, and R2-D2.

It is what it is. You can either continue to be upset that SW:GE is not want YOU wanted or you can accept that the land is set in the post-original trilogy and judge it for want it is.

My main crack is there is one ride and then a bunch of experiences you pay for (Savi workshop, Droid Depot, Drinks at the Cantina, Sampling the land's food). I know the land is an attraction in itself (especially with the Data Pad on the Disney Play app), but it will be much improved with the opening of RotR.

Yeah, and all of the prequels/sequels had auxiliary characters from the original trilogy too.

Yet, somehow, they still sucked.
