Microwave

I will be staying at Pop and I'm pretty certain there's not a microwave in the room but is there one in the food court? Mostly I need it to heat up baby food. Is there a way to heat it up in the parks? I'm guessing the baby centers but I've never been there, plus I don't wanna have to trek all the way back there just to heat up something for my daughter. Any advice or tips would be great!:wave:

Yes, there are several in the food court at Pop Century.

There are microwaves in the baby centers which are your best bet but in a pinch you could ask if you could get a cup of hot water to sit the baby food in just to warm it slightly like you would a bottle. I think you can also buy baby food warmers too. I never warmed my kids food but I remember seeing something like that at Target once and it was small so would be good for travel.

Thanks for the replies guys! Good to know there are several microwaves at the food court so that won't be a problem! I will probably pack some stuff that doesn't need microwaving for the parks and also let her eat some veggies and things off our plates. Ahh if only she had a few more teeth :ROFLOL:

My DD was 10 mos old and no teeth when she first went. I can honestly say that I never heated her food up. We went in April - the weather was warm - so the food stayed warm. She wasn't used to it being heated much at home.

Even if you don't need to heat any food in the parks, the Baby Centers are great. I brought my DD in there just to cool down some times, and changed her. THey have the greatest air conditioning in there. You can also rock in the rocking chairs - which was great for nap time.

Do those Baby Centers have room for the kids to stretch their legs and just walk around a bit? My one year old is so tiny, its hard to for to get around real good on playgrounds or anything like that. Obviously I can hold her hand and let her walk around that way. I was just curious :shrug:

I've only been in the one in the MK and there is a small room with some chairs and a tv where she could walk around for a minute or so!

Your best bet is to look for the play areas during less busy times... I don't know when you're traveling but I found that later in the day the play areas weren't as crowded. My 14 month old had just learned to walk on our first trip and I was afraid to let her out b/c she would get trampled in a second! Pooh's playful spot was nice in the evening. Another great area is inside the living seas when it's not too busy... I let her walk around and touch the glass to the tanks. Another cute area is the one under splash mountain (can't remember the name of it) but my daughter had a lot of fun there during EMH one night! I would suggest you avoid the big play areas in DHS and AK - they're too crazy for a young child! My kids love 'em now but they're 5 and 2 years old!

Here's another little tip. When at AK we usually head straight for the Safari and get a fastpass. While waiting for our return time we walk the Pangani Forest trail (spelling?). First thing in the morning it's not busy at all and I let my children take their time and walk the trail at a leisurely pace. It's a great place for them to stretch their legs before the crowds show up!

Thank you so much for the tips!! I had no clue there was a play area under splash mountain! My daughter has been walking since December so I'm not worried she'll fall or anything. She's just tiny We are going in the middle of May. I'm hoping it won't be too crowded because it's just before school lets out.

We've been to all the parks "baby centers" and there is definitely room for the children to walk around... they have a room with TV's and chairs to relax in an AIR CONDITIONED room!!!! It can be a hassle having to walk back/forth to one, but it was very comfortable and relaxed in there. Hope this helps!!! Have a wonderful vacation!!!
