Unless things have changed - the castle lighting occurs at the end of the regular day (before the christmas party begins) thus both non party guests and party guests can see the lighting. As for the parade and other holiday shows - they will kick you out. Though, I am not sure if they kick non party guests out of Main Street USA?

The castle lighting ceremony is daily at 6:15 pm. Holiday Wishes can be seen from outside the park at one of the monorail resorts. From December 21 - 31 the daytime parade is the Christmas parade and Holiday Wishes runs nightly, no special ticket needed.

What about if you have a dinner reservation? We have a 7:10 reservation scheduled for tomorrow in MK. Now I'm hearing they might not seat us because it's 10 minutes after the party starts? (We don't have tickets) I've had this reservation scheduled for months.

I would think you can go to your ADR but that's it. You won't be able to go on any rides, though. I would just make sure you're in the park before 7:00.

Everyone without a party ticket who has tried to be seated after the party begins says they were unable to be seated. Can you switch the time?

If you can't switch the time, try showing up at 6:30 and see if they'll just seat you. If you don't bring up the party, they may just seat you. But they might not. You may be forced to choose between that giving up that meal and paying for party tickets.

If you do get seated and don't have a party ticket, you will have to leave the park after you eat. Some people are even escorted to the exit!

Disney is pretty strict about closing the park to those without tickets.

When you made the reservation, the online system or the CM on the phone would have told you that you can only make the reservation if you have a ticket to the party. If they didn't, I am sorry, but you definitely won't be allowed to eat in the park without a ticket to the party.

Sorry for delay. I got sick my last few days and barely made it through the parks, much less anything else. We actually decided to cancel because we didn't want to wait around for a reservation that we probably wouldn't be able to use. After that, my sister, who has a lot of food allergies, admitted that LTT had very limited offerings for her even with modifications. I didn't realize it was really the allergy trifecta, not even counting the no-gluten, no-dairy issues. She also cannot have pork, potatoes, or green beans (for dairy free people, FYI, they do provide dairy free mashed potatoes).

So when I went to cancel, they actually told me that they would honor the reservations. After I explained the allergy issues and a manager was called, I was able to cancel without a fee.

The party infringed on other things, though, too. All but two of the counter service restaurants close at 5PM, two hours early, to prepare for providing treats for the party. Getting out of the park--at about 6:15--was a nightmare. No crowd control, it was like trying to swim upstream against a whole lot of people coming in the park as well as those who had already claimed their parade spot. Every time a monorail would drop off incoming guests, they would stop all outgoing guests trying to get to resort buses, resort monorail, or the boats (resort and TTC) until every last person got off the monorail and crossed our path. Then they let the flood gates go. One woman almost lost her kid. It's a Black Friday trampling just waiting to happen.
