Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party

Is it worth the extra admission? What's different that going on an off day?
Will be doing it for the first time this December, so I can't speak as to if it is worth it or not. Many people have said on here that the Halloween party is better, though many do love the Christmas party.

What's different: special parade, special fireworks, snowing on Main Street, cookies and cocoa.

I think it is worth the extra money, however it is just my husband and I so we just have to pay for the two of us. It is fun to see the parade, Christmas Wishes, and other shows. I can do without the cocoa and cookies but it is a nice touch. I spend most of my time doing to special Christmas party stuff and throw in a couple rides. If you haven't been and have the $$$ in your budget you might as well try it out for yourself.

You should see it once I did but wouldn't pay to see it again. Its pretty much the same every year. Went one year with my husband and then the next year took my mother 87 yrs old to see it. Have no desire to see it again too much money!

You'll get differing opinions about this. We had been to MNSSHP and opted NOT to attend MVMCP when we had the chance this past December. I figured the only difference would be the cookies/hot chocolate, the parade, and Holiday Wishes. We were able to see Holiday Wishes anyway by making dinner reservations at the Cali Grill and watching from the Observation Deck. I felt that dressing up in costumes and trick-or-treating at the Halloween Party was more enticing than cookies and hot chocolate at the holiday party. So I figured I could do without the holiday parade and didn't want to pay for 4 tickets. That said, had we not already been to MNSSHP, I might have wanted to check out the Xmas party more. But that's my own opinion and others differ.

Love a little Disney every day!! ;)
Me and the DH go every trip and we love it! The special Fireworks show brings tears to my eyes every time. You can only see the special fireworks at the party or if you are there durning Christmas week. They make it "snow" on Main Street the whole time too, and the special parade and shows are nice as well. Also you get free cookies, or apple slices , and free hot chocolate or juice. We do not have kiddos and are going again our first night we get there in December. Great way we like to start off our trip! You don't have to spend extra on admission if you would solely wait until 4 pm you only need the Christmas Party tickets you bought to get in not park admission as well. I'm sure you will have multiple day tickets though so this does not apply to you. We do it the night we get there being we get in late afternoon anyway. :)

I can safely say no. So much so that my wife and I turned it down last year while planning to go during the trip we were on. The lights at DHS are where it's at. MNSSHP is fun though and we already have tickets for that again this year.

I think everyone should go once and see for themselves! You never know until you try!

But my personal opinion is that it isn't worth the extra dough.

I agree, I think its worth seeing once...

If you enjoy Christmas as a holiday, you should attend the party once.

I attended last year for the first time. I am glad I tried it, but I probably won't ever attend again.

We've been twice, is it totally worth the price? You need to decide. It is a less crowed evening with special events not just fireworks, cookies and parades. If we're there during one of the parties we always attend. The DW wouldn't miss it. It just makes the season that much better.

I think it's one of those things you should try once...just to judge for yourself. The cookies and cocoa are tasty, the parade is nice, and the fireworks are wonderful. That being said, the character lines are super long and I didn't feel like the price matched the positives of attending. Plus, you can watch the fireworks from the Poly beach and get a much better view of all of the perimeter effects. Still...I'd probably still be curious - even with all the opinions out there - if we hadn't just tried it ourselves.

Ive heard so many great things about it but I must have missed something. I was really sick that we spent the extra money. The only difference was we were there at night. And we had already been there all day.

Or from the Observation Deck of the Cali Grill like we did. They even pipe in the music there.
Yeah you can but you don't get the full 360 fireworks view like while there. The make the fireworks almost circle you for the special show. They do not do that for the regular nightly Wishes. One of our favorite parts of the Christmas Show. We like experiencing it there but of course that is an option if people are at Cali Grill or top o the World DVC Lounge. :)

We are going to the first party on 11/8 for the 1st time. I usually don't do these parties, but I really want my niece to have as much fun on her 1st trip as she can so we decided to do it this year. I couldn't believe how much tickets were! But I keep saying that it's just this once and I bought them the day they were available to get that out of the way in advance. I can't comment if it is worth it, but I hear that it's worth doing at least once. I hear that the Halloween party is a lot better.
