I'm sure this has been discussed before, but bear with me...I'm jonesing for Disney, and I'm thinking about this December's trip. :xmas:

What are the must-do's and don't-fool-with's for MVMCP? I know it's all subjective, but I'm curious to hear from those who have been.

The biggest must do for me is Holiday Wishes. Awesome show...The second is the free hot chocolate and cookies..:slurp:. I don't think I have done any of the other things that are offered but to me it is definitely worth the extra money.

Well, they always put on a very nice Night Before Christmas show (with all of the most famous characters) every year. We never miss it.

And yes, I have to agree with ksccar and the fact that the endless hot coco and cookies are a great addition. :slurp:

Hope you enjoy it as much as I always do!

I've been to MNSSHP a few times and love it. But since I'm moving to Orlando in a few weeks I will be able to go to the Christmas Party this year. What all is there to do and see at the party?

MVMCP is one of my favorite events! The castle forecourt show is lovely, the Night Before Christmas show is very entertaining, and the cookies and cocoa are great. There is also a "DJ" in fantasyland so the kids can dance, often with characters. Great! Also worth noting: the gorgeous holiday decorations and flowers. :cry:But by far the best part is the PARADE!!!! :) You just can't top dancing reindeer and real "snow" on Main Street USA! If you are with older kids (or no kids) go to the second parade for a lighter crowd. Have fun--I can't go this year, so I'll be thinking of you with envy!

I really like the new parade they had debut last year.
There's at least 3 different "smells" the floats have. It's great!

But also don't skip the cookies, cocoa, and fireworks!

Well, this is a totally subjective question -- so let me say I LOVE MVMCP and have gone the last three years -- but it has nothing to do with Christmas. Frankly, for those of us who come from wintery climes where we usually have snow LONG before MVMCP even has it's first day at WDW, the thought of fake snow on mainstreet, and hot chocolate and cookies (which are not very good) are among the least interesting things for me.

What do I like?
1) I love the Night Before Christmas show in Tomorrowland.
2) I love the cool evenings.
3) I love being able to get on all of the major rides with no more than a 5 minute wait.
4) I love the holiday decorations as they come to life as the sun sets.
5) I love the holiday special fireworks.

The parade, I can take or leave (in fact, it's a great time to do some of the rides).

It totally depends on what you are looking for. If you live in the south and don't have the snow and holiday stuff Up North -- then there is nothing better than a special christmas-filled night at the park to give you the "flavor" of the holidays.

Personally, last December 16 when I left Detroit for my week at WDW, we had 12 inches of snow on the ground. Blech to real snow, and double blech to fake snow.

The parade, Night Before Christmas show, cocoa and cookies, holiday decorations, Christmas music BGM (Tomorrowland's is AWESOME), special merchandise, limited Guest count, and fireworks extravaganza are amazing parts of MVMCP! Don't miss any of it.

The castle stage show, on the other hand, is possibly one of the most boring, useless shows at WDW. Skip it and pack Cosmic Ray's for the Night Before Christmas show.

^^ Oh, and all the characters are dressed in their holiday finest, from Santa Goofy to Belle in her Christmas dress!

Mickey's Twas The Night Before Christmas... Tomorrowland, Galaxy Theatre... don't miss it! Celebrate the Season (the show on the castle stage) is alright, but if you only can/want to see one show, pick Twas!

(only slightly biased of course ;))

I'll definitely remember that for our Dec-2009 trip.
