Mickey's Not So Scary...Questions

Hey Guys

I'm planning a trip in October, and I was wondering if anyone can tell me a bit about MNSSHP. This is an adults-only group, and basicly I am wondering what is open for rides, etc. more than anything else. Is it the same as e-ride nights, just with a Halloween theme?

Any info at all is greatly appriciated. Am afraid it's going to sell out before I decide!

I dressed up, because I am a dork :king:

Everyone else I was with went in regular clothes.
We were also an adults-only crowd, and we had a great time.

I don't remember any of the rides being closed.

Erika...you are not a dork!

MNSSHP is a wonderful party for children and adults. Costumes are optional. Disney does ask that you do not have anything dragging from the costume or have anything on it that will cause harm to anyone around you.

Most of the attractions are open with the Villians all over the parks. The parade is fantastic with the characters all in costume and a special surprise at the end.

Fireworks and trick or treating in the shops for the little ones. You will love it!

This event is called a hard ticket event which means that you will have to purchase a separate ticket for it. The park will close at approx. 6pm and re-open at 7 for the party. Disney only sells so many tickets for each night, so buy them early. Also try to stay away from it on the weekends and the actual Halloween night. The park does get quite crowded at that time.

Thanks so much for the quick replies guys. I'm going to be there in Oct. on my birthday, and MNSSHP is going on that night - sounds like a ton of fun.

How late does MNSSHP (I just love typing that...) go? Do you have to leave the park at 6, and stand outside to be let back in for 7? Am I gonna look like a loser if I want my picture taken with Maleficent? :)

I also have a question about Universal's Halloween nights - I hope it's okay to ask here without starting a brand new thread in another forum. This is also a hard-ticketed (and much more expensive - twice as much as MNSSHP) party, and I was wondering if the rides there are open as well. The party tickets don't specifiy which park - just in the packages with additional admission media - so I am assuming that you can park-hop with it? I.E. go to either USF or IOA during the party? The reason I ask is that I have spent a great deal of time at UO a year or so ago, and the only new thing for me to see is The Mummy, but I also know I can't go to UO without riding Spiderman (in the other park).

Thanks so much for all the help! It's making my Monday morning trip planning much smoother!

MNSSHP is around $31 for adults, $23 for kids. The Universal party is almost $60. Neither include daytime park admission, but from what I gather you do not have to go to the park during the day to go to the hard-ticketed event that night.

You can view the dates/prices by looking for special event at disneyworld.com for the month of October.

I'd like to know that too. We have a PS at Liberty Tree Tavern that night and I was wondering if we have to leave MK and re-return to enjoy MNSSHP and dinner that night, or if the hurd you to a part of the park. We have tickets already.

BTW, if you go to allearsnet.com and search for "halloween" there are some great reviews of MNSSHP. I'm totally sold...sounds like E-ride nights only better - more rides open plus theming. I may be trying to work it in twice during my stay...

My wife and I along with her sister and brother-in-law went last year for the first time. It was fun. Some people have some really nice costumes and you had to look closly to tell if they were CMs or guests.

We liked the families that dressed up in the same theam.

The parade was great, the fireworks were really good, and all the characters had costumes on as well. Fun time for us adults, and I'm betting kids love it too.

Half the fun of going to the party is dressing up. ALOT of adults dress up. I might have family going with us this year and I am REQUIRING them to dress up. I'm not allowing them to the party without a costume

We went last year and overall we enjoyed it. My review is one of those on allearsnet. We would do it again. Akiraraptor, no you do not have to leave the park. Last year they did send all the guests to tomorrowland, but if you're eating you probably won't even have to do that!

Have fun!

...and I got the answer from Disney today. If you already have a ticket and you are visiting MK earlier that day, you can get a wrist band (I guess like DD) and stay in the park while they switch over the MNSSHP.

We have a 6:30 PS, so when we go in it should look one way, and when we walk out, it will look another. Should be neat to see the transformation.

Thanks for the confirmed info.

Anyone have any answers to my Universal questions before I start up a new thread? :)

Unless they have changed the way they run the Universal Horror Nights you will not be able to park hop because only IOA will be open. You can stay at Jurassic Park while they do the changeover (just like staying at Tommorowland at Disney), but you cannot wander the park otherwise. My wife and I got a few frozen drinks and sat and enjoyed a little rest while waiting. Universal also runs a sort of fastpass during the event - it allows you to go to the front of the line once for each ride - but you have to pay something like $35 for this privelage.

According to some info today, they are going to expand to both parks this year, but I think I've been able to make my decision. IOA only has a couple of "must do" rides for me - Spiderman, Jurassic, and Hulk - so I'm probably going to spend the day at USF and then go to the party at IOA.

That is, unless I just realize it's not worth the expense since the only "new" ride I want to see is the Mummy, and I'll just go to an extra night of MNSSHP instead. :)
