Mickeys halloween party thingy

Then why should I pay $105 for Halloween night if I can hang out and do all the things at the party without paying? Seriously. All the recommendations I've read about doing the parties is skipping the rides. If I can hang out, I've been wasting money the past several years. I respectfully suggest that you are incorrect on this one. CMs will definitely point you toward the exit.
My thoughts exactly. I was upset about this when I was part of the party? I was like, what are all these non payers doing here and why isn't Disney throwing them out? Seriously, I've been to at least 5-6 of the Halloween/Christmas parties and see tons of people who "shouldn't" be there. They don't do the rides, but they are hanging out everywhere.

I'm really surprised that he has never seen this. The CMs actually form a line to escort non-party guests out from each area.

No, its policy.

I've had to pass through two CM chain checkpoint lines in the hub to access the lands. No band, no entry.

We also witnessed a sweep down MSUSA from hub to Town Square before the first of the night Once Upon a Christmastime Parade. A chain of CMs came down the street - and parallelled inside the stores - checking all wrists. Those without were asked to leave.
Yeah, I'm not disputing that. I'm just telling you, I've seen it on Main Street a TON and even in the lands where people just never left and were just hanging out.

It's like when I was there, the sweeps were lacking.

This is exactly what happened when I did the halloween party in Oct.

They cordeoned off sections of the park at a time and worked their way towards main street checking bands.

They also checked at the rides.

I have park hopper tickets in September, 14th-19th, and I have a question about this Halloween dealy. If I'm inside the park with my hopper pass, will i be asked to leave at 7pm??? Or am I understanding this all wrong. Seems like I need to spend almost 100$ more than I already have to stay in the park? Am I being ripped off?
I dont think it is a rip off, no.

That said, if you can afford it, I would strongly consider attending the party. It is a blast!

Chances are, we will resist it, and 7pm will come and we will gladly shell out the tiny fraction of money. (compared to the cost of the entire trip) What's a couple hundred more when thousands are going out the door..for the second time this year at that.

One option, if money is the concern, depending on how long you are staying, is to drop one day of park tickets, then get the party tickets, then do a morning at the resort or Disney Springs.

The rides, even e tickets, have very short lines on party nights (compared to normal wait times), so you can do a lot...

Show up at 4p and they will let you in. Do your FP+ reservations between 4-7 (you wont need them after 7).

I can dig up a letter I wrote about this and see what I said. I remember being extremely annoyed that I paid for a party where cast members were simply not enforcing the rules and a ton of people were loitering, clearly without bands.
Exact quote from my letter:

"We attended Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party on Thursday night and were disappointed to see several guests on different occasions watching the parade without wristbands and even in some of the themed lands, hanging around after normal park closure. We had a great time, but couldn't help but wonder why these guests weren't asked to leave and dealt with in a more urgent fashion.

The perceived value is undermined when paying guests witness so many guests who didn't pay hang around with seemingly no consequences. We did notice guests being asked by cast members to show bands before entering rides, but other efforts were extremely lacking. Would it be possible implement some sort of process that herded all guests to the front of the park during regular closing time and only allow re-entry to special event guests, similar to rope drop? I realize this is difficult, but it certainly would give paying guests some satisfaction. Thanks for considering!"

My letter is longer and mentions a lot of positive things, but that was the section about the party. I vaguely remember a response that said it's up to the cast members to enforce the rules and they do their best, but sometimes it's difficult to enforce for large crowds and cast members get tired of telling people no. Of course, they will "re-train" them as much as possible and pass the feedback along.

Could it be possible that the people you noticed without wristbands had them, but in a pocket or something?

Anything is possible, but I doubt it. I remember it being a warm day, so most people were in short sleeves that night. Too many with no bands and if they had it in their pockets, cast members would have been asking them constantly if they were following their process.

Are you allowed to make FP+ reservations with just a party ticket? I am planning on doing a Disney Springs/Christmas Party day and I was just under the assumption that since I was just doing the party and didn't have a regular ticket, I wouldn't be able to book FP+.

I have so much to learn...

Absolutely. You're allowed to enter at 4pm. MDE actually considers it a day ticket like any other ticket so you can make FP+ choices for the day. You could even make them earlier. Not that it would do you any good as you can't enter until 4pm. But you can certainly make them for the three hours between 4 and 7pm. Be aware that your first choice may be prior to 4pm (e.g. 3:45 - 4:45pm), so plan accordingly to get to that first attraction.

Yes but only from 4pm-7pm being there is no FP's during the parties. :)
