Hey! I will be down thre that day! This is my first trip down at Christmas time. Is the Christmas parade only held during the special Christmas party? The calendar for the days I am there only show the normal afternoon parade. No mention of a Christmas parade.

Also, how do you go about being part of the filming? My kids would love that.

Mickey's christmas parade is shown only during the party and on friday dec 3,dec 4 and 5th for taping and christmas eve/day and new year's eve/day..Dec 4th at 8am till 6pm on sat with celibrity apperences throught out the day. it's a looooooooooong taping process and if you are not one of the selected few to be chosen to stand in between the ropes for the taping you will asked to keep on walking directly off main street to another area of the park.

I'v been featured 3 times on camera and was replaced last year due to a camera man 's mother who pushed her way in front of me. it was not a Pleasent event like years past, lol.

the christmas parade does travel around twice on sat about 5 pm to thanks those who have entered the park for taking up time .Regis and Kelly host around the castle or coke corner, security is very tight that day to...

I'm another small-town Ohioan that will be there on the 5th ! I'm from East Liverpool - on the border of Ohio, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania.

Hello Rosebud's mom... I live in Farmdale (Kinsman Township), OH. I'm 5 miles from the OH/PA border. Another Ohioan getting out of the cold. LOL.

A query to WDW Guest Communications received an email response that they "have no plans to run the parade at any time other than during the Christmas parties at this point."

If I'm not mistaken, in years past, hasn't the Christmas Parade traveled down Main Street during the entire month of December, or at least the two weeks straddling the Christmas Holiday? :xmas:

The parade is shown during the MVMCP evenings and also during the normal parade times after the parties have ended, Dec 17th I believe for this year.

We were encouraged to stand along the parade route during the taping, but they warned us that there could be long time slots between the floats. After the main taping was done that afternoon, they brought the parade around again at normal speed. However, it was REALLY crowded for that parade. :)

I have a picture that shows some of the crowds. http://photoalbums.wdwmagic.com/showphoto.php?photo=9699&size=big&password=0bb1933e579308374755ee54015a29b2&sort=1&cat=500&page=1

Thanks, I knew they had to show that parade (b/c I've seen it) on non MVMCP Nights. It's good they show it, b/c us Christmas travelers don't have the luxury of attending the Christmas Party.

The prettiest parade, still, is the night time Spectro complete with falling snow!

I read over on Mouseplanet that according to the WDW folks, they don't have any plans to show the parade after the Christmas party days. Anyone hear anything more on this? I can't imagine having no christmas parade on the immediate days leading up to the 25th. :veryconfu

Wait a minute, if they only film it on party days, then that must have changed since last year. I was there and saw the parade on the 23rd I believe, not a party day.

Yes, in years past the parade was run during the Christmas Season. Now, if you look on the calendar, it states that Share a Dream will be running. But it always switches last minute and is replaced with the Christmas Parade. And hours are extended. And everything is as finalized as it can be.

Besides, at the very least I cannot imagine the Parade not being shown on Christmas Day, itself. And certainly it should be playing on each week straddling the Holiday.

The taping of the parade that is shown on Christmas day on TV does not occur during the parties. They usually tape on the first or second Saturday in December during the day. The parade that is taped is much bigger than the normal Christmas parades. They only show the Christmas parades during the parties up to the last party (I believe is Dec 17th this year). After that, I'm fairly sure the Christmas parade is shown daily.
