What's Bisquick? Waffle mix? I wish there was waffle mix down here...

Hey tati!

Its a buttermilk biscuit mix that can be used to make a whole bunch of things.
I don't know anybody who does not keep it in their pantry.

I didn't know there was a recipe thread.. sorry. But well... Thank you very much!!! Can I beat it with a mixer, like I would beat cake dough?

Yep, but make sure everything is very clean before you do the egg whites or they won't whip up fluffy; and be careful when you mix them in.

Ok. Thanks a bunch!!! There aren't waffles here.... And no waffle makers. I got mine up there in the US, but I have to make them from scratch, no waffle mix here...

Euell Gibbons? :lookaroun

I do like pine nuts

Yeah, Tigsmom! You will the prize.

For those of you who weren't yet alive in the 70's:

Euell Gibbons was some sort of nature expert who was hired to do a series of commercials for Grape Nuts cereal.
The tag line was "Ever eat a pine tree? Many parts ARE edible."
It became a buzz phrase of sorts, not unlike "You're fired," "Is that your final answer," or "More cowbell."

I will never forget where I was when I heard that Euell Gibbons died: I was on a band trip on a bus somewhere between Illinois and Florida. He died of stomach cancer--which we found somewhat amusing. The rest of the trip we kept saying, "It must have been the pine trees..."

Thanks for the recipe, Tigsmom. We've had a Mickey waffle maker for a few years, but always used the bisquick recipe. I'll try the real one.

Ohana's Best Friends Breakfast featuring Lilo and Stitch has the Mickey waffles. We had breakfast there last Thursday morning and it was very good.
