OK, I will admit ignorance, but what was that electronic Mickey or anti-Mickey thing near the end of the Grammys last night?

Sounds like a jerk trying to make a statement, but not sure what.

Surprising Disney hasn't gotten him on the ears similarity, though.

I had no idea who that was either.

The Wikipedia link said that his stage name (pronounced "Dead Mouse") is from when he was doing some repair or maintenance work to his computer and found a dead mouse inside it. Later discussions on chat boards found him often referred to as the "Dead Mouse Guy" which eventually was shortened into a moniker of just Dead Mouse. Doesn't sound like he's trying to make a statement so much as it's a name that just sorta evolved.

I could liken it to my username here. SweetPee could easily be construed as something gross but it's really not. When the hubby & I had our wedding bands engraved prior to getting married we took each other's rings and filled out the form in secret so whatever was inside would be a surprise. My husband, God love him, is a terrible speller. That's how I got SweetPee instead of SweetPea like the flower. The old man misspelled it.

To my knowledge he has nothing to do with or against Disney. There is no copy right infringement because Disney does not have rights to a mouse head with circular ears that is not being passed off as Mickey Mouse. I've never heard Deadmou5 make any remarks about Disney either. He is just a DJ who mixes music in a pretty impressive mouse head. You can watch some of his videos and see how the eyes and face change and the one he used at the Grammys appeared to be fully changeable.

Not every mouse has to be affiliated with Disney.

Exactly. Although I'm sure Disney and Deadmaus could come to an agreement and definitely find someway to work together and make lots of cash. :D
