Pretty cool, I think. I have a miniature version of one of the Snoopy statues, its pretty cool! This'll probably be a good merchandising thing for Disney, too.
EDIT: Whoops, that didn't work, I think. Here's the article:

EDIT: Ok, to avoid getting in trouble, I'll just sum it up
Randi and Hart Johnson from St. Paul, Minnesota, will be creating a bunch of Mickey Mouse statues to be decorated and put on display around Disney World and the "Disney properties" (I guess that could include Disneyland along with WDW). The Johnsons were the ones behind the "Peanuts" statues that were decorated and put on display around St. Paul.
"At a news conference scheduled for today in Los Angeles, the Johnsons will join Walt Disney Productions CEO Michael Eisner and comedian Drew Carey as they unveil the first of 75 6-foot polyurethane Mickey Mouse statues slated to pop up in November to honor the lovable rodent's 75th anniversary."
"The first sculpture is expected to go on display at Disney World in Orlando on Nov. 18, the anniversary of Mickey's debut in 1928. "
Apparently Drew Carey and John Travolta will have a hand in decorating them :veryconfu .
Oh, and I am sure that the Mickeys will be much less open to vandalism as they will most likely be in the more guarded areas of Disney World, as opposed to the rather "risky" St. Paul area.
