the first one ever made was plane crazy
i knew steamboat willie was the first cartoon..but i wasn't sure about it being released in theaters.

just for a little fun info...steamboat willie was not the first disney movie made. DisneyInsider was right the first movie made was plane crazy but steamboat willie was the first released

Wrong. Plane Crazy was not the first "..disney movie ever made..". It was among the first three Mickey Mouse cartoons ever made. Plane Crazy was not released to theaters early on because it was a silent cartoon. "Talkies" were are the rage so Walt made Steamboat Willie the first cartoon released. Second was "The Gallopin' Gaucho" and the third was "Plane Crazy". "The Gallopin' Gaucho" and "Plane Crazy" were silent. Who knows the next Disney sound cartoon that was released?
Also, Walt released a bunch of cartoons to theaters prior to our good friend Mickey Mouse!
