If they "redo it", I'd wager they'd take te sign down. Just an opinion...!:) :D

It'll be taken down someday...few years maybe. I heard it was built to last ten years...it will be freaky to visit the park with it off...then I'd expect to visit Horizons or something...like a dream...:(

That's so beautiful. And so true! May we all have dogged persistence to make our dreams come true, whatever they may be!

As to the Mickey Hand - it's nice. But it's quickly outliving its welcome, I think, at least among many disney fans. It certainly isn't permant, so it'll be down and when it does come down, many people will be feeling like old EPCOT Center's back. Unfortunately, there will still be the problems and "lackings" the park faces. It's colorful, and bright, and bold. Leave it up a few mores years, ten take it down. But I certainly don't think it will be up if/when SE is closed (for major rehab).

Maybe they will add a hand on the other side and Mouse Ears on SE...

It would look like SE earth fell from the sky on top of Sorceror Mickey's Head.   :hammer:

Somthing intresting that I noticed was on my new wdw trip planning video that I just got. The Hand was gone from SE in the little map they had.

I've seen several materials of late that picture SE without the hand but I doubt it means anything. They are probably just tapping into the retro craze for the 20th anniversary.

Here's hoping they take the wand down! :)

It was a really good (and tasteful) tribute to 2000 - That said, it's time for the wand to just go away

I looked like it could be turned into an arch, by building on the other half and used as a support for a temporary covering over the globe for rehab.?

I don't like the hand mych either....I thought it was cool for the millenium celebration but I never thought they would keep it up. It ruins Spaceships Earth's whole look IMO.

And geez this Eisner bashing never stops! Give the guy a break, he's done more for the Disney company than ANYONE second only to Walt him self. The economy has been sketchy for quite a while now and you'll notice Disney isn't the only company having problems and having to make cut backs. Eisner is doing what he's doing only for the benefit of the company. As for those angry at him because of the demise of old attractions....do you really think e makes those decisions single handedly?! There must be a whole division of the company dedicated to monitoring guests opionions on attractions and how much traffic these attractions recieve. I'm sure the average guest (not Disney nut) opinion on an attraction like JOurney Into Imagination was quite poor....espescially after haveing done attractions like Test Track which the average Joe Blow (not a Disney nut) in a Disney theme park would enoy over JII.

Excuse my typos....I usually go back and fix them but sometimes when I go to edit a word the spaces close up and as I add letters other letters delete. :veryconfu It's a pain in the butt.

I don't mind the wand and the hand but the word EPCOT has to go. I also think they should make the hand 3D so you don't see the structure supporting it. As for eisner yes back in the eighties and eirly ninties he was great. problem is (imho) he is getting old, only wory about finances and the whole economy thing dosn't help matters. we need fresh young blood in there with new ideas for a new generation.
