There are tests that show projections onto physical moving cutouts, so in that scene, presumably you would experience traveling along with Mickey's car -- the background projecting scrolling along making you feel as if you're moving 3 times the speed with various cutouts coming out at you.

wondering about that as well, and I know its all screen based but it also looks like it is going to have some physical sets??..... last was stated here they are not using the entire GMR footprint.

It's not all screen based - my (possibly incorrect) understanding is it's a lot of projection mapping onto physical sets...

I thought Disney fans had been pretty clear that we REALLY dislike the "new look" Mickey Mouse characters. They look awful. Why put them in a ride instead of the "real" characters.

A vocal few don't speak for all fans. If the majority hated it, Disney would have known and stopped the new Mickey Shorts after its first season.

The expected ride system is an LPS but with an interesting twist for display.

The ride will start out in a train style, with goofy leading the bunch, but once hijinks occur each train car and weave back and forth through show scenes and props to provide unique experiences to each car. It's a really unique use of the system.

The animation style is trash but the shorts are clever enough to make a fun and visually impressive attraction. At least that’s the plan. Hopefully it’ll be impressive enough to almost make us forget that they threw the Great Movie Ride in a dumpster.

I haven't followed MMRR, but looking at the new concept art, it seems like it's going to flow like the great movie ride (and Kong) and be screens based like Kong. Could be interesting.
