I regrettably haven’t ridden RRCS, but from POVs, it seems to get the cartoon theming and set design a lot better. Runaway Railway feels to hollow. It feels like “screenz” the ride. There’s not enough dimensionality to it.

I haven’t ridden MMRR yet but I hope to give my assessment in a few days. I do like RRCS a lot as a zany fun ride (even with my qualms about the “Trench-coat Jessica” changes aside).
The fact that they've got the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse stage as part of the props makes me all kinds of happy. What a plus for Toontown, they knocked it out of the park.
What a nice addition to Disneyland. Honestly this is a perfect fit. They didn't even have to tear anything down and the ride belongs in Mickey's Toontown.
Glad to see something upbeat and charming added to Disneyland instead of more Star Wars.
Found my answer while spoiling the ride. Spoilers for some of the differences I caught in the POV:
The opening tunnel is right ahead as opposed to hanging left in the DHS version.
The tornado is a circular room rather than the pass through in DHS; much better laid out.
The squid pulling the plug takes the place of the storm drain transition between the ocean and the cityscape.
The last bit of the ride has a lot of minor tweaks to the ride layout, including where we exit from the dance practice, what we see entering the factory, and a tunnel/bridge crossing into the park finale that doesn't exist in the DHS version.
Overall, I think the changes make a lot of sense and do wonders to increase the energy and make it feel a little more hectic and cartoony.
I know the layout of DHS's pretty much very well, so the slight change to the tornado scene was welcomed. Track switch and rodeo has extra dialogue and sound effects. The transition from underwater to city is more abrupt and quick and could be improved imo. Then the factory to the finale park scene has a long "lull" through that empty tunnel. I was so caught off guard when we turned right after the conga dance.
Most of the changes are good for the most part, just wished they did something with that tunnel in the end to truly give DL's an extra scene haha. Also seems like Daisy is missing her water bottle next to her! It was on the floor in DHS's version.
Also Mickey's lines seem re-recorded in some parts. Could just be my ears tho ha
Well that's true. I think the more positive stuff for me is that this ride didn't replace anything, meaning additional capacity. That's what they should've done in DHS instead of just replacing capacity.
I do like the track switch more in this version. There's also extra dialogue in the rodeo scene. These are all pluses on top of the original version.

Agreed with the underwater to city! I happen to like the tunnel (I interpreted it as a covered bridge but I can't tell from the POV alone) because it's a nice beat before we get to the finale, but I also wouldn't have minded an extra scene or something in its place.
I haven’t seen a ride through of DLs version but I remember the Sewer tunnel at DHS looking like a momentum killer. I think the quick “cuts” into the next scene should work better as it matches the zany, chaotic nature of the Mickey shorts.
Hmmm... looking back at a video of the canyon room, you have Mickey saying "it's a stampede" and you hear the hooves pounding of a stampede, but you don't see any herd animals.
Maybe the author of the article misremembered that scene?
Here's the full MMRR comparison between DL and DHS. I think Minnie's voice were changed but subtle because i suspected DL version were voiced by Kaitlyn Robrock.
EDIT: Disneyland version still use Russi Taylor voice as Minnie Mouse. Nevertheless, i could not even tell the difference between Russi and Kaitlyn voice as Minnie, just look same.

Not a fan of that… i get wanting to have more unique qualities between each version. But that’s just dumb.. why replace Russi? Know what would’ve been a better idea at that point that actually would’ve been an improvement. How about replace Chris with Brett? Much more appealing and sounds less like the South Park parody version

Minnie kicks Pluto in the preshow (accidentally, but it was a choice the people who created this ride made… To have Minnie kick Pluto…because they apparently thought that was funny). At least in the WDW version.
The ride itself, however, thankfully avoids most of the cynicism and vulgarity of the new cartoons and is fairly delightful aside from the nightmarish Mickey and Minnie AAs that look like haunted Mylar Balloons. The adorable Pluto AA makes up for it (stay away from him, Minnie!)
The little changes for DL’s version sound great. Despite my dislike of a few specific things, I think most riders are going to have a good time.
