Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway - Disneyland

So forgive me if this has been discussed already but most people seem to be under the presumption that the gag shop will close for the entrance to the attraction; however, it seems FAR more sensible to me that the current backstage entrance will be the new entrance for Runaway Railway. This is because the gag shop seems like a nightmare for guest flow and its entrance seems a little too close to Roger Rabbit. Any insight on that?

According to early reports it was planned to replace the Gag Factory, but based on the concept art released at D23 a lot of people have speculated that it will be replacing the Toontown City Hall due to the similarity in appearance and close proximity to the show building.

That would still make a lot more sense than the gag shop. It'll just be weird that Toontown now has no Toon Hall xD

@mccgavin beat me to it, but I also believe it will be at City Hall. The backstage entrance is a purpose-built vehicle entrance for emergencies, so I doubt they'd use that. The Gag Factory/Five and Dime is the only shop in Toontown, so they won't get rid of that retail space. If anything, they will use the common approach of having the shop be the exit to the attraction.

Edit: I'll add that if they do most of the queue in the new show building, there shouldn't be any worry about the queue backing out into the food court/gazeebo area. They may need to rearrange some of the seating for traffic flow though.

Sad to see City Hall go but that route actually makes a lot more sense.

Poster art shows 12 people in the three train cars, so it would depend on how many trains can go through the ride simultaneously if that art is accurate (12 adults, with the ability to put a small child between 2 adults in each row for a max of 18 people).

The poster is wrong, it’s 8 per car and 4 cars so 32 per train. Should be able to do in the low-mid 2000s per hour.

I hear in Florida it will.

No BGs.

The rumor now is that, in response to the coronavirus shutting down the Chinese parks, among other things, the Disneyland version of Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway has been (or will soon become) frozen, at least until after the third quarter (if we're lucky). However, the pessimist in me has a sneaking suspicion that they will quietly cancel the ride altogether and that it will never come to fruition at all. I really hope that that's not the case.
