Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party 2025

So let’s talk about something fun related to the Halloween Event for those who are planning to attend.

How about costumes….
Who here is wearing their own costume this year, or perhaps deciding it’s time for a change?
Maybe wear a new costume instead of the same old thing…?

Let’s hear what y’all are wearing this year, and what ideas you may have for a fun party costume.

Don’t forget, you will be in Florida…in 125 degree weather with 200% humidity…even at night time.
Perhaps Tarzan would be a good choice…?

What's the maximum capacity of the MK? (Hint -- see post 358)
You are using an incorrect definition of "sold out," mostly to dunk on Disney, I suspect.

Of course the party attendance is capped far lower than what the Magic Kingdom would hold by fire code standards. Not only is that not hidden information, it is actually done on purpose to make the Halloween Party more appealing. People buy tickets specifically for that reason. But the literally upper fire code capacity limit is absolutely irrelevant to whether or not a particular event is "sold out."

Are you seriously telling me that if a concert venue can hold 100,000 people, but a particular band decides to cap attendance at 50,000 to make a better experience for the audience, and then sells 50,000, it wasn't a sell out? That's absurd. Of course it is.

They CREATE the market for the party by limiting attendance. Keeping the number low means parties "sell out" fairly quickly, generating FOMO among the faithful devotees who wouldn't miss MNSSHP unless forced to by a hurricane, MK-swallowing sinkhole, or Cuban missile attack.

They are not "creating" a market. Good grief. They are effectively tapping into a market that is already there. Go pick out 10 random people on the street who have no interest in Disney and I guarantee you they aren't going to go buy Halloween Party tickets once they learn some dates are sold out. People are going because they want to go.

Why is it so hard to believe that the tickets are simply selling out?
Is anyone seriously debating that a “sold out” night in August is the same crowd level as a “sold out” night in October? It doesn’t need to be a conspiracy, Disney clearly projects what the crowd level they think is going to be, staffs accordingly, and then allows the party to sell out once it hits the crowd level that they have staffed for.

Not for this year but last year my family of 5 went as the 5 folks who were in the Hollywood Hotel elevator when it was hit by lightning

Not too many people got it, but those that did loved it (though due to heat we ignore a "suit t-shirt" vs actual suit, etc)

I expect decorations will start going up this weekend or early next week.
It will not be this weekend or early next week. Decorations last year went up roughly 3 days (August 6 was the first day with decorations) before the first party date (August 9). The first party date this year is August 15. You have another 10-12 days to wait, in all likelihood.
First two posts were July 31.

Some Halloween decorations on Main Street today.

*Checks date*

Basing some of these sorts of things that are posted on recent park history instead of pulling nonsense out of thin air because I’m so excited for Halloween in July? Maybe I’m onto something. Or just on something. 🤷‍♂️

Do you see any crowds in any of those commercials? Any hint of the complexity of having to buy dated tickets, make park reservations, ordering your food over an app, making reservations to see characters or ride rides, or having to pay extra to avoid hours in line...?
This is like the Turning Red movie review randomly bringing up 9/11. Why would they include that?? They’re evoking a vibe. It’s clear anyway on their website for these things, what are they going to put Mickey Mouse tackling a child and saying “You have to pay $20 and book a reservation to wait in FastPass!”

This just in, Red Bull doesn’t give you wings! I’m not loving it at McDonald’s! Burger King you don’t actually have any legal authority nor do you have any royalty.

And you mean the capacity limit is the same for each night, right?

With Epic Universe not opening till 10 am, you probably could rope drop AK with your annual pass and still make the opening at Epic.
Nah…maybe a light breakfast first?

I like the first watch on sand lake?

Or maybe a nice buffet on property? I think there’s a $60 one like 100 feet away from the room. Hefty price…but I can swing it…I paid for the room in 2004. It’s in one of the white buildings with the red roof. 🦩

A question just came to mind with this update: Why is the turnover from Halloween to Christmas able to happen overnight, but the fall/Halloween decor is put up more in stages?
