Jackson Was Not Breathing When Authorities Arrived, LA Times Says

Michael Jackson was rushed to a hospital by Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics, the Los Angeles Times reported.
Capt. Steve Ruda said paramedics responded to a call at Jackson's home around 12:26 p.m. He was not breathing when they arrived.
The parademics performed CPR and took him to UCLA Medical Center, Ruda told The Times.
The news comes as the Jackson was expected to kick off a series of shows in London.
Jackson, 50, hasn't released a studio album since 2001, and his turns in the spotlight have mostly focused on his personal troubles.
Jackson was arrested in 2003 on child-molestation charges and acquitted in 2005 after a trial in California.

Michael Jackson has been hospitalized in Los Angeles after suffering a heart attack.
The 50-year-old King of Pop collapsed at his home around noon today. Staffers immediately rushed to his aid, but he was unresponsive.
"The call came in because a person was not breathing," says a spokesman for the Los Angeles City Fire Department, who declined to ID the singer by name.
"When the team arrived, they saw that CPR was already in progress by someone at the home. The person not breathing was transported to UCLA Medical Center and remains there."
"He had a heart attack," father Joe Jackson tells E! News. "He is not OK.
"His mother is on her way to the hospital now to check in on him."

Just looked at the NYTimes whose story was updated 9 minutes ago...still no official word, even on the cardiac arrest. That was reported by onlookers (CPR in progress).

Just turned on CNN and as far as I can tell, he's still alive, but not doing well. Either way, thoughts are with the family.

I have CNN on and they are confirming a coma... quoting sources close to the family.
Comas following a cardiac arrest are NOT good.
