I'm sorry, but the correct spelling is Weyla la, la weyla weyla, la weyla, la weyla la weyla weeyyyyyy....

:cool:

:lookaroun:lol:

What was I thinking? :hammer::lol:

Note to self: Never attempt to write out the lyrics to an indigenous ballad on a forum post, especially when it's from Epcot.

Hahahaha, yeah I noticed the similarities years ago when I used to work at Epcot. Glad to hear I'm not the only one that thinks so. :~D

Uh oh... Well, if you're correcting someone on the correct spelling of song lyrics in a made-up language, you might as well get them right... ;)

The first line of Tapestry, direct from the sheet music, is:
" W[FONT=Nimbus Roman No9 L, serif]é la, oh mé la wé-la, wé-é yay-yé, oh é yé." :D

I've got a great Hal Leonard sheet music book I bought online that has the sheet music (including lyrics) and guitar chords. It has all the classics (Grim Grinning Ghosts, IaSW, YoHo, Tiki Room) as well as some of those cheesy Disney promo songs and Epcot millennium songs (Celebrate the Future, Hand In Hand; Promise; We Go On), and Fantasmic. Its got DL stuff, too. It's a great book, but the music is quite hard.

EDIT: This is it http://www.halleonard.com/product/v...13205&lid=0&keywords=disney park&subsiteid=1&

You can also purchase individual pieces for about $4 from Sheet Music Direct: www.sheetmusicdirect.com

I haven't bought the music for it, but you can preview the first page, and that's how I got the lyrics. (And Tahu, as far as I know these are the same lyrics that were given to the CMs working the parade so they could sing/lip-sync along with the show.)

As for the story behind the "foreign sounding gibberish", yes, it's a made-up language but with a purpose:
They wanted it to be "ancient/African language sounding" but not a specific language, and yet be easy enough and repeat a number of times so that anyone, regardless of their own language, could sing along by the end of the parade. Thus Guests who came from around the world could join together in the celebration, even if they didn't speak the same language.

I have that one too, it's great! On a side note, it has a great arrangement of the Fantasmic finale. Soooo much fun to play.

Very interesting, thanks. I've always loved the story of how they made up the sounds.:lol:

It isn't foreign sounding giberish. It is a song that can be sung by people of any language or background and be the same song. You have to look it from a symbolic point of view. That is why it's beautiful.

After thinking about it I was like yeah without even listening to the songs and now after listening to the songs no doubt.
