I was wondering how many of you went out and got the new Linkin Park cd or are going to. I think Faint is my favorite song. There not my favorite band but they always have an interesting sound. I just got it at Best Buy three out of the six people in line were buying it.

I bought their first one... It has some okay songs on it. I didn't buy Re-Animation and I will not be buying their new one. I don't think they have any talent and all their songs sound the same.

Just my opinion though, please don't make me put on my flame retardant suit :brick: :lookaroun

Ive had the misfortune of listening to this album for about a week now, Someone who apparently hates me sent me an advanced copy. I must say, for an album with so much hype behind it, it certainly does..well..$uck.

Im sure josh can testify about how much Ive been hating this album for the last few days ;)

I bought their first album, and enjoyed it for a bit.... until they basically turned into a boy band. A band whose main fan base is 14 year old girls, whether it be rock or pop, is not for me.

I completely lost all respect for them when they made the Reanimation album. Fans waited 2 years for a new album from them, and all they got was a bunch of remixes. I hated them more for poluting my rock radio station with their crap.

I enjoyed their first single off the new album for about a week.... I'm tired of it. To answer your question, I won't be buying the album from the boy band of rock.

Hybrid Theory is still in my top 10 list of CDs... even all these years later.
Reanimation is pretty good, the new vocals are ok and the remixes are well done. The "new" songs (My December, etc.) save the album even though they were on the EP/Demo.

Meteora... I don't know about yet. I'm still waiting for my full retail copy, so... I've yet to hear the whole thing. I have a copy with 9 songs on it. It's pretty good. 'Somewhere I Belong' is the best song on there, but I could only be saying that because it's the only one I know, lol. Overall, it seems to be much harder than Hybrid. A lot more screeching Chester than singing Chester. And, in my opinion, not enough Mike. :)

I'll always support Linkin Park. They've worked REALLY hard to get where they are.

Thanks, I needed a laugh. It cracks me up that anyone would actually believe that Linkin Park exists for any reason other than to funnel money from the pockets of "hardcore" 14 year olds to the coffers of Warner Bros Records. Keep ragin' against that machine, buddy.

Isnt that what being in a band is all about? Anyone who says its not about the money and girls is LIEING...

14 year olds have lots of money to spend on merch (its the #1 demographic for modern music styles)...its not the age group I aim for, but thats the majority of fans most bands have...

sad but true..

But thatsnot my reasons for disliking LP....i think their sound is done..over..and this album will be forgotten in the "one hit wonder" zone ;)

agreed

(I did like the first CD...but Re-Animation was overkill...(as was the first one because of the airplay it got/gets)...and...to tell you the truth...this new album doesn't sound much different, just not as good (same sound...not the same affect that the first one had)

The money yes, and the girls yes.

I have a question with DSA, i listened to few of the songs. I found it intersting that you guys have all this stuff going on in the songs, and its not mumbled like some bands are. I was wondering what your set up is. i definately heard some type of distortion, not sure what kind though. I can understand words more detailed than half-stack too.

The vocal effects we use::

Doubler
Slight distortion
Echo/delay

Either seperatly or combinded depending on the song

Ok, I know this really doesn't belong here...but I'm curious

Evanescence...that song from Daredevil (which completely ROCKS by the way)...are there any members from other bands in that song??? Or...is Evanescence a "new" band?
