Yeah, it would just be a big play that prolonged a losing season. Like in the 2001 NHL Eastern Conference Semifinal Game 6, the Pittsburgh Penguins had the "Immaculate Deflection", scoring an improbable goal with 72 seconds left to elimination. It was huge then, they went on to the East Finals but were demolished by the Devils. So no one really thinks of that goal anymore, except for diehard Penguins fans.

ahem...first of all, if Brett Farve hadn't thrown an interception, foruth and 26 would never have happened.

second of all, it's really 4th and 29 right? because they gave Mitchell 3 YARDS EXTRA. tackled at 50 yard line, ball on GB's 47.

so yes. it is ridiculous.

NOW if you had a Thank You Brett shirt, i'd understand.

actually, i was rooting for the Packers. so they could come ehre to Charlotte and play the Panthers in the championship.

although, the Cats will have a bit of an easier time against the Eagles.

and don't bring up the "we beat you last time we'll do it again" crud...Kasay missed 10 points the difference in the game. the only difference this time, is that he won't miss 10 points again.

How's that make it 4th and 29? Seems it was 4th and 26 and you're saying the officials stretched a 23 yard pass to 26.

Not sure why you feel the need to insult the Eagles. If the Eagles are as bad as you say, what are the Panthers accomplishing by beating them? If the Panthers actually lose to them, the will have lost to a team that stinks, right? What's the point?

I'm sorry. Was I rude? I didn't mean it to come off that way. I just don't get why supporting one team so often seems to involve trashing the opponent.

No, you weren't rude; I 've just never seen you be direct with someone like that before, and I totally understand your reasoning. Like if Eagle fans start spouting about how Green Bay or Carolina $______. Well, they don't because they did make the playoffs. I can't stand that in fans. Be a good winner or loser.

no it was 4th adn 26. you're not seeing what i;m saying. after he was tackled. foot down on 50 yard line. defenders stopped him there and moved him back about a yard. the spot was put ont he 47 yard line by the refs. that makes no sense. they gave him three yards.

it's interestignt o note GB Packer Flannagan is quoted in saying the panrthers have a legit front four but are nothing. that the NFC championship game will be the worse ever because the two teams suck. they are two teams inw hich they can beat.

Wow...Gary, I completely agree.

I never understood backing a team by trashing an opponent.
(hehe, except when it comes to the Red Sox/Yankees...but that's really just a "game" that each team's fans play...and it's not really trashing because we DO have respect for each other's players)

There are 4 teams left. All 4 teams deserve to be there...if they didn't...they wouldn't.

Carolina had a hard fought battle against St. Louis.
Philadelphia had a hard fought battle against Green Bay
New England had a hard fought battle against the Titans
Indianapolis had a hard fought battle against the Chiefs.

I hate to see someone take down another team and show no respect for them when they truly deserve it.

(If the teams are so bad...why are they in the playoffs to begin with?)

The replays showed he had enough for the first down, regardless of where the refs put the ball. And I hate to say this, but I said the same thing after the Gators lost to the Seminoles, if you can't stop someone on 4th and 20+, you don't deserve to win the game.

Oh and Scott...No lux box for me...but I did get tickets...38 yard line...not shabby...but not like last week :) (At least the temps are up!)
