Trip Report Merry Christmas You Filthy Animals! A Live Christmas Trip With The Inlaws.

You all knew this was coming, just a down and dirty live TR with the inlaws this Christmas week. So, strap in and get ready because here we go...

Naturally I told the folks we would be leaving at 05:00 this morning so be ready. You can see one guy didn't want us leaving. We were up at 04:25 and all packed and ready....except the MIL. She seemed to want to play the "let's see how many things we can touch in the house before leaving" game. My crew was ready to roll by 04:50 but we had to wait until about ten after five before her game was over... a quick stop at dunkin donuts and we were well on our way. We hit the half way spot, Tifton, about 09:00 to gas up and hit the restrooms. Over the hump and determined we pulled into the Panara Bread on 192 about 12:30 for lunch. While we ate I got the text our room was ready!!

So we decided to make rope drop at HS today, Thankfully this meant could sleep in a bit since HS didn't open until 08:30.We had a 5 minute wait before a bus picked us up and I must say its nice that they started havering independent bus service for Kidani and Jambo. Soon we were there and making our way towards Hollywood. They did a phased opening which meant everyone was congregating around Starbucks waiting for the rope to actually drop. I popped into SB since the DD hadn't eaten yet, apparently she has something against Entenmann's, and grabbed her a cheese danish which didn't last two minutes. We continued on towards ToT which had no wait. I attempted to live feed via FB but I'm a moron and had the camera facing the wrong way:oops:. No worries, though, we hopped back in line and withing 5 minutes were back in the elevator again doing a proper feed! After two trips on ToT we made our way over to RnR for some single rider action. It probably took about 15 minutes before we were staged and in our stretch limo.

We made our way towards TSMM next. We did standby which was posted at 50 minutes bit was more like 30. We had the fortune of getting to visit Andy's room so that was a nice bonus! It honestly felt like the cars on the new track were designed slightly different than the original track cars. I didn't feel like I had enough elbow room to maneuver around. I'm not making excuses, just observations. I was still able to best the ladies so I had bragging rights on the day!

After TSMM we made for Star Tours. We also did standby for this, posted 30 was more like 20. Im glad they removed the FA scenes from every ride. We enjoyed a trip to Hoth followed by some action above Coruscant. After ST the DD decided she wanted to head back to the room for some lunch and rest. Laura and I decided to make the walk to WS for some Fish & Chips. Along the way we passed one of the trees DVC is planting for each resort, pretty neat. Soon we were entering teh international gateway and heading for teh R&C Pub. Thankfully there was a table free. They also take TiW here so that was a nice bonus. We each had a fish & chips. Laura went with a gold and tan to drink while I went outside to grab an Innis and Gunn. The food was PERFECT and really hit the spot!

With bellies full we decided to make for the DVC lounge to rest for a bit and get some coffee. One note: they have every kind of apple charger to use for free but not a single Android charger to be had! Thats ok because soon the DVC rep was making rounds handing out treats and I was in a happier place with some chocolate chip cookies. After about 45 minutes of R&R we made for MouseGear followed by the art shop.

Enjoying your trip report so far! I'm glad that your in laws have managed to find a pace that works for them, but doesn't hold you guys back from doing what you want to do. Can't wait to read more!
It was honestly a pleasant surprise. I grossly over estimated their ability to handle the parks. They are somewhere right now and we have no idea where but we can tell they are using their FPs!

You know what makes me chuckle? You'll often say, "with bellies full . . ." -- reminds me of lingo from an old B&W western movie on TV! :hilarious:
.
HAHAHA! As I wrote that, again, I thought to myself "am I saying this too much?" I was this-><close to writing " am I saying this too much? " after I wrote it.
:jawdrop:   :arghh: Are you sure she really belongs to you and Laura?

I'm not certain anymore. I'm gong to swab her mouth while she sleeps....

OR AM I!!!

So we made it back to HS in time for our ST FP. I got sidetracked by the jedi training. I mean these little kids were CUTE! I was also slightly jealous I wasn't up there swinging a light saber around with Darth Vader. Soon we were back in our Start Tours cruiser on a journey to the Wookie planet then Naboo. Laura was the rebel spy this time!!

After ST, We made our way to Hollywood Blvd for the Star Wars fireworks. This show is 15 minutes of awesome. It is WAY better than the Jingle Bell Jingle Bam! After the show we made for 50's to check in. We had about a 10 minute wait and were then seated and introduced to Andrea, she was awesome. I'll admit, I was on my best behavior because I did NOT want to get called out for anything! While we were there we participated in a birthday chant as well as a Choo-Choo cheer for little timmy to clean his plate for dessert. The DD went with a strawberry milkshsake while Laura and I had a Yuengling, not really my choice but it felt right for the meal... The DD went with the fried chicken while Laura and I shared the salad wedge and the sampling platter. All the food was excellent as well as the ambiance and service. With bellies....just kidding. After dinner, :D, we made to knock out a ToT and RnR FP before calling it a night. Despite some overcast conditions it was an excellent day! I'm looking forward to tomorrow where we surprise the DD with a lunch to Teppan Edo and Laura and I close out the night with a dinner date at Jiko!
