Mermaid Signage Gruesome?

The INTERNET isn't a country... nor is it "free" in a lot of actual countries. Just saying.

You're absolutely right! The folks trying to shutdown my critical Mermaid threads are obviously working for the Chinese government! They probably want to suppress all online Disney dissidents because Shanghai Disneyland is coming, and heaven forbid, somebody dare to criticize an attraction that might come to Shanghai. One day Chinese students are saying no to Mickey Mouse, the next day, spitting on Chairman Mao's image.

To all the shills hired by the Chinese government, we know you exist! Well, well, . . . welcome to the American way of doing things my communist friends, and mark my words: you can't put the internet behind the Great Wall of China . . . or whatever "wall" it is that you guard to keep people out of your country where there aren't big mountains and rivers or stuff like that.

I'm gonna' go out on a plank here, but why is she the figurehead on a shipwreck?
Shouldn't she be represented as the well-maintained Flagship in Prince Eric's fleet...?! ;)

The shipwreck looks like Eric's ship in that it has the same general bow, and some special flourishes. I'm not sure that Eric ever had a big fleet of ships, his castle is more of a McMansion also, at least the MK version.

After giving this thread a through "going-over", I can't help but be reminded of the phrase, Get a life.

You know, I really hate to tell someone to Get a life but there's just so much B.S. one can tolerate within the span of a given day so the phrase, Get a life keeps bouncing around in my head.

I know that telling someone to Get a life may seem harsh, but in reality, some people are practically begging the rest of civilization to tell them to Get a life.

I hope that I wasn't too subtle.

Not that it's canon, but below is a video clip showing how Ariel's mom, Queen Athena, died when a pirate ship crashed into rocks along the shoreline and she got . . . squished. Go to about 3:06 to see the horrors.

No, not at all.
At least, as far as you know... ;)

Can we go yet?

That clip actually looked pretty good for a direct-to-video release. I dunno, does the rest of the movie suck or is the rest of it this good?

My little nieces love the two Ariel cheapquels. Me, I thought they were somewhat okay-ish, not bad at all, which came as a bit of a surprise, considering most Disney direct-to-video releases would be named more aptly as direct-to-waste-bin.

I do like the concept art better with Ariel on the rock.
Yes!

I don't know why they didn't opt for the iconic Ariel on the rock image. It would've been perfect. And what a great photo opportunity!

I don't share every criticism levelled against the shipwreck-figurehead Ariel, but I do agree with the basic premise of this thread: I think it is a poor choice. It is exceedingly ugly, does nothing for the area, doesn't really further the story. Just a big eyesore, an all-too-ambitious marquee, that mostly seems to exists for itself. Like the silly ship masts at PotC.

Oh stop. MagicMike puts people down as trolls in every thread when he doesn't agree with a comment. He seems to think every person with a conflicting viewpoint is a troll.

Not to be a "factual" guy or anything, but if you go through my post list, that is if you actually want to spend that much time on on something like this, you will see the word troll used a grand total of three times out of 168 comments. I don't know if that qualifies me as "King of The Trolls" (although that name does sound pretty awesome out when used out of context).

I'm sorry if you feel the new Little Mermaid Signage is gruesome.

This thread is such a waste of bandwidth. She looks crucified? Poor choice of words. If you wanted some attention, just ask for it.
