Mermaid: MK is to DCA as Sub is to Omni

Just to clarify, I can only assume Adam is talking about the Jules Verne land that has been rumored to take the place of Camp Minnie Mickey in the Animal Kingdom.

Jules Verne in inspiration, but Mysterious Island in name. That is, if it gets the green light. Plus, its location is still being debated.

I'm looking foward to reading yuor comments two years from now when nothing new of any substance has been added and quality has yet again gone down. Will you still roll your eyes at everyone who says anything against the "Can do no wrong" corporation? Will you finally agree? Or will you still jump up and down and get excited over vapors and rumors.
We're really looking forward to the day that you post something uplifting and positive - and 'I told you so' posts don't count. :D

Have a fantastic, magical evening.

I just thought of somthing, weren't submaries practically non-existant during the period that Little Mermaid takes place? How out of place would that look?

I think around the rennaisance period.

No, it's well after the Renaissance. The Renaissance was approx 14th to 17th centuries. I'd place Little Mermaid solidly in the 19th century. (Though I admit I haven't watched it in quite a while...)

And as a point of reference, even though submarines of the sort weren't invented yet, 20K Leagues Under the Sea was set in the 1860s, and Jules Verne first published it in 1870.

When The Disney Company gets its act together and starts improving the quality of the theme parks and adds stellar new attractions (on the calibur fo Splash Mountain, Indiana Jones, and Tokyo Disneysea) you will see nothing but uplifiting and positive posts from me but until then I gotta call it as a I see it and hear it.

I would love to see the subs back in some shape or form although I think there would need to be some updates made to them to make them work better. The small seats and portholes don't work well with todays larger bodies. However the subs added so much nice kinetic energy to the park that I'd love to see that.

As for the ADA, they could easily get around that by doing what they did in California. They just setup a handicap viewing room that allows you to see the story without riding the subs.

Oh c'mon. There are 50 threads stating the problems. Just comment, speculate, and enjoy.

Or are some people so jaded that they can't even imagine something good anymore?

This would be interesting, but I think probably cost-prohibitive. It would certainly be interesting to see the Little Mermaid theme from the underwater sub perspective. There are several interesting storylines there that do not necessarily need to follow that of the original film.

This must now be only second to SM for having every part of its development and execution made of elastic.

I think they meant the attractions would not fit in the same "land". Although I believe LM and the new 20K would be seperate attractions and would not be located next to each other and possibly not in the same park. Personally, I think LM works better at the MK with 20K going to M.I.-land at the AK if approved.

I'm skeptical about either.

Does anyone really even know about the 20K movie, or watch TLM anymore? It'd seem a stretch to bring one ride, let alone two of properties that are long gone in most people's memory.

I'd give slightly more weight to the TLM rumor, only because the princesses are getting Disney huge returns, so adding another "princess" would make sense.

I was just thinking about that. I feel confident that if MI is approved it would be teamed with other media. I would think a movie on the scale of Pirates or National Treasure would work and could even become a new franchise.

As for, LM, I think it will be passed on generationally similar to the way other Disney classics have so I think it would work too. JMHO
