Wasn't trying to mess with the "merf"

I'm just wondering if I bribe him to edit his post and I'll edit mine to remove all traces of my feeble attempts at reporting new stuff at WDW...

In reality I was only 4 years late though - that's not too bad is it?

Merfmazing post. Such Merfabulous investigating.

I think we need to add your name sort of like an adjective to describe when someone goes the extra mile for wdw information...like "That was so Merfy of you"...anyone remember the how the Smurfs had their own language?

You, Marni and a few others amaze me with your Disney knowledge, facts and information....thanks as always!

Can anyone describe what the old EPCOT Center entrance sign looked like. Or even better, has pictures?

I wonder what the chances are of a park name change back to EPCOT Center. The removal of the wand and a name change would be very fitting for Epcot's 25th. Despite what Disney has said, I still have a feeling that they will do something grand on October 1st to honor Epcot. I hope.

Another 20 letter phrase.

Another phrase that is 20 letters:

Good Riddance Ugly Wand

We can dream can't we?

BTW, Great job Merf!!!

The rest of the main entrance (800LF of guardrail) is contracted to Coastal Steel. They did the work on Everest, Pop Century, and many other projects for Disney. On their "our capabilities" page they have pictures of the BAH and Epcot Wand.

Before you send hate mail, they're not the only company responsible for those two. I recall finding a tradeshow style publication featuring the Wand and the company touting it as so grand.

Coastal Steel's Home page even has pictures of a particularly large erection at WDW:

Great researching job. As for the 20 Signs, Don Bell is an awsome sign maker, and I pass by the factory every once in a while (the factory is in Daytona Bch.). They make some GREAT stuff!

If I'm not mistaken the Magic Kingdom Entrance Toll Plaza Sign and Once Upon a Toy sign were done by him as well.

I wasn't aware of changes to the entrance of Epcot. Interesting. You have any more specific details as to what they are doing?

They can/do make those big light-up letters you see stuck to buildings like Taget for example. "Welcome to Epcot Center" is exactly 20 letters... but I think that's wishful thinking on my part.

"Year of a Million Dreams" is also exactly 20 letters... :lookaroun

I'm hoping we get we get what Merf thinks it should spell out.
