Memory Maker

You print them just like any other photo. You can print from a photo printer, use a service like shutterfly etc.Hi all,
We are thinking about buying Memory Maker. Came you tell me about it?
I know you get them on your computer, but how do you put them one the wall?

It was worth it to us but you have to take a look at what it offers and make that decision for yourself.

We have gotten it for all of our trips. We have found a lot of value in it. We end up with hundreds of pictures. We typically download them all onto a flashdrive or set of CD's. We can then look at them all on our computer. We usually do a photo album as well that we actually get printed and a lot of the photopass pics end up in the album. We find there are a lot of good quality pics and we get all four of us in the pics as opposed to just the kids and one adult! I do think it is a pretty individual thing as to if it is worth it or not. We also usually go for a couple of weeks at a time so the per day rate is very reasonable... It is a bit time consuming to download them all after you get home but Disney does have an offer where they will burn them all onto a CD for you, but I think it is an extra fee--maybe 25 or 30 dollars...

Memory Maker is a must buy for us, we make the most of as many photographers as possible throughout the park. The ride photos are easy to add on, just use your magic band to scan the correct screen on exit. Plus on Seven Dwarfs Mine train, you get a video clip in addition to the photo. You dont have to print the images, I just downloaded mine to disk.

Depends totally on you, your touring style, and your picture needs. If you only want a single picture in front of the castle, or just a few pictures overall, then it's not worth it. The photographers will gladly take a picture with your camera as well. Usually it's going to be 3 (or more) Photopass pictures, then 1 with your camera. Even if you don't have Memory Maker, they will still take pictures with their camera and scan your band/hand you a card. If you don't do thrill rides or meet characters then it's probably not worth it. Photopass usually works well in situations where they are ready to take the picture, and don't have to worry about other stuff. For instance a member of your group runs up to hug Mickey, Photopass is usually ready to grab a picture of that moment while you are fighting with coats, bags, etc. Photopass also (hopefully) knows where they are shooting and will adjust accordingly. For instance, some know exactly when the fireworks would shoot off during the castle show, and would take extra pictures, or have you wait a second to get the shot with the fireworks in it. Photopass also usually excels at nighttime shots. Odds are you won't have a tripod needed to get a good family shot in front of the castle when it's lit up, but Photopass will.
Correct. Memory Maker only grants you 30 days to download your pictures from Photopass. You can download them as often as you want during that time frame, and you can download any picture on your account including edits as long as they are still active. If you want to order prints or other photo products from Photopass you can, but you need to pay. Since they charge like $14.95 for a 5x7 you can get printed at the store for like $1, if you have Memory Maker there really isn't much reason to buy prints from Photopass as well.

THIS! (Quoting dreamfinder's post for emphasis). If the idea of posing for (and combing through, editing and printing) hundreds and hundreds of pictures sounds like a form of torture rather than a fun way to spend a few hours, if you only want a few dozen photos, and if you own a decent camera (or camera phone), then I'd advise skipping MemoryMaker. We did it once and were pretty disappointed. The photos we had CMs take with our own camera came out better than those the MemoryMaker photographers did with their cameras, the ride photos were nice to have but not of sufficient quality to print for display (and in at least one case, we didn't get any ride photos because of a flash/shutter synchronization issue on the attraction), and I'm not someone who enjoys sifting through multiple photos of each pose with each person with each character/backgdrop to find the "best" one. I just want a few dozen great pictures to make into a memory book (on Shutterfly or similar) when we get home, and we get enough on our own camera for that purpose. (Plus, with our own camera, we get the chance to capture special, spontaneous moments that no MemoryMaker photog could get -- my Dad's face when he took his first sip of "Beverly" at Club Cool, my son hugging the Stitch stuffed animal he fell in love with in a shop, my daughter's first taste of Dole Whip...) We'd rather save the $150 and spend it on a nice table service meal or something. YMMV, of course.

I always get the Memory Maker. It is my souvenir to myself! I love getting the magic shots and ride photos! And it is so nice to have the pictures taken for you so you don't have to fuss with getting out your camera or phone. It is not for everyone but I love it and think it is a good value. Have a great trip!

I am a frugal to say the least, and I definitely find memory maker worth it for us. My daughter likes to meet a lot of characters, and it is so nice to just enjoy the moment and not have to worry about taking pictures. And the rise photos are fun too! I live hag we have a picture of her holding up her hands for the first time in a coaster.
Mathematically speaking, remember that the break even point would be 10 pictures of you downloaded them individually. (Assuming you pre purchased MM for $149) Most people will want at least 10 pictures, IME

I love Memory Maker, and I have purchased it for my trip which begins in just 13 days. I love the download process, but I also purchase the CD after my vacation, so that I have a hardcopy of all my pics as well. What I liked during my most recent trip to WDW was that we could see all our pics at night, of the ones that were taken on that day. Most pics show up fast. The magic shots sometimes take longer.
