Memories of the original Disney-MGM Studios

This brings back some good memories. I also loved the old sound effects studio where they had audience members adding the sound effects into a screen. I think the movie starred Chevy Chase and Martin Short but I'm not sure if I'm remembering correctly. It used to be good for a laugh because the guest artists were usually so off it was funny.
Yep, the film itself was called "The Death of a Salesman." It was better than the Drew Carey film they eventually put in there.

That part of the park, in my opinion, is pretty much dead now. They killed off Superstar Television, which was something that could have easily been updated over the years. I have no interest in going in to see American Idol.

Thanks Martin as always. Was there ever an explanation as to why Disney moved away from seeing how stuff was done at the studios or not as far as you're aware?
They tried, as did Uni, and were partially successful. Despite the incentives there was no real desire back then for productions to choose Orlando over New York or Los Angeles. In the end post production and dry facility hire outlasted physical production but that didn't make for an interesting tour.

However, one wonders with state film tax subsidies if those facilities could be successful had they have been built today.

Yes that was the Monster Sound Show and I loved it. It seemed a great idea to have the audience participation and I alway wondered why they got rid of it? I know things need changing around and nothing lasts forever, however I seriously doubt it cost that much to run. I think they should have kept the basic concept of the audience doing the sound effects and just changed the film round every few years to keep it fresh, but then again what do I know.

Here's a clip of it I found

Thanks for the memories. I used to love this show and playing in the sound effects section afterwards.
