Memorial Day Weekend?

:animwink: Have any of you gone on Memorial day weekend? We usually go in October, with the crowds at an all time low, but this time, we're going to be at Disney from May 24th to June 1st. First few days I don't anticipate any trouble, but Fri - Mon, I'm wondering how bad the crowds will be. Would the best parks to go to be Epcot, AK, or Blizzard Beach on those REALLY busy days? Just let me know what you think - thanks!

I'm going May 19-24, so what can I expect? I've been the first week of May and then not until July after that.

Looking forward to a wonderful 5 day vacation! :sohappy:

Hi, We're going May 29 -June 3. The website: www.touringplans.com/BestDays.htm has the crowds at level 8 out of a possible 10.That said,I've been to MK when they would not allow anymore visitors to enter because it was so crowded and we were still able to ride w/out horrible waits. The parks are pretty large and the crowd scatters to different areas. We plan to take advantage of the evening EMH to make our stay less hectic.I've read posts from people over Easter break and they say the evening EMH is the way to go.Hope this helps.

I'll be there the 27th thru the 1st, and truth be told, plan on mostly hanging out at the resorts. I fear the crowds, particularly on Monday, will be fairly large. I can't decide which park to hit which day during a busy time. Any suggestions, veterans?

I will be there May 21st-26th. On May 22nd I Am meeting up with a few people from these Boards to do Star Wars weekend festivities at MGM. If anyone wants to join in just let me know, we would love to have you. May 23rd, I plan on doing EPCOT with emphasis on the Off Kilter guys. Other than that I Am pretty open so I can afford to let the crowd levels dictate where I will be. Belle

That website is probably old, or based on last year, because I HIGHLY doubt that crowd sizes at the beginning of May (May 5 to be exact) will be a four out of ten. But, for the rest, I guess it's probably a good estimate.

With that being said I hope it's not too big of a zoo. We'll be there 24-30!

Wow, I am pretty sure that I will be at MGM on May 22 also. That's a Sunday right? I will be at the World May 21-27, but I think I can handle the crowds. It won't be worse than the week of July 4 last year, will it?

May 5, 2005 is the start of "The Happiest Celebration on Earth" at WDW. Advance Resort bookings are up and I anticipate that WDW will experience record high visitation during the entire time from May 5th until mid September.

Well, we were there last Mem. Day, of course there was no 50th celeb. then... but it wasn't excruciatingly busy-- and we did not have EMH. I will be looking for all of you inline from 5/21 thru 5/30. I will be the mom screaming at her young child, while stuffing my face with every type of junk food available. Oh yeah I am 6 feet tall-- you can't miss me.

I was there a few years ago the week before memorial day and It was great no crowds at all.But our last day there was the friday before memorial and we went to animal kingdom and it seemed a lot buiser but, was my 1st time there and maybe it was just animal kingdom because we did just walk on the safari in the afternoon but there was over an hour wait for white water raft ride.

It seems like MK will defnitely be crowded. But what about Epcot? I wanted to head down there and hang out at the hotel, but visit Epcot to get a "fix" over Memorial Day weekend. Is it worth it?

touringplans.com has a new crowd blog link on its front page that has the Memorial Day weekend down to a 5 on a 1-10 scale. Apparently from what I've been reading, Memorial Day attendance has dropped off from previous years. The crowd blog is from May 5 whereas the best days page is from April 15, so hopefully the newer blog is more accurate. I actually went this past Easter break and we just got up earlier and hit the parks at opening or right after and tried to eat lunch and dinner earlier, used fast pass and EMH and we got SO SO much done, I mean I really like going in Sept when things are not so crowded but if you have to go at a busy time just plan better and you can still do so much! My only problems were TL and DQ there were so many people you couldn't do or ride anything, they even closed both placed while we were there and we ended up leaving because you couldn't even move....
