I had to share with my WDWMagic friends!

Midnight tonight (eastern time), I'm getting a try out on the air at one of the radio stations in my area. What do I mean? I mean I've been behind the scenes in radio for 7 years now, and I just got very lucky and I am being given an live audition as a DJ.

I am very rusty, and might not be as good as I would hope, but it's Magic 98.3FM in central NJ, and streaming live at www.magic983.com. I'm on from midnight until 3am tonight! I'll be "Todd Anthony" unless I decide to use my real last name at the last minute. lol

Wish me luck!!!!

Good luck, man. I'm a trained broadcaster myself, but haven't been able to find work in the field since I moved from Orlando. Glad to hear someone's being given a shot at least.

I loved working in Radio. I used to do news updates and do a "phrase that pays". I'd take a phrase from the sports guy, DJ, and writer and work in something from each into my newscasts. Try working Chico's Tacos into a story the first woman on death row to have lethal injection in Texas for YEARS!!!

The first on-air may be HORRIBLE. The second may be edgy, but after that -- you won't even care. It will quickly become second nature.

Do you choose your playlist, or is it already pre-selected and you just fill the holes?

I loved when I was in control, but when I became a glorified atomic clock, it wasn't as much fun.

A Texas women will be put to death early this morning via leathal injection. Sources say they will be using Chico's salsa. This will be the first lethal injection in Texas in many years.

As you can see from my signature, I love real, live radio. That is why I love WSM -- they still get to have live DJs around the clock, and while it is programmed most of the day, they actually take requests a lot and the evening DJ, Eddie Stubbs, plays "deep catalog" stuff that can be 50 years old, or from a brand new artist stopping by. Too bad all of radio is not that fun any more.

Hope the OP had great show! Still want to hear how it went!
