I may be going to the World Solo Nov. 16-20 - staying in Old Key West. Anyone else going solo the same time? Have always wanted to try it and might just have that oppurtunity. Do others who have done so, find that they get bored on their own after a few days of going it alone?

Bored? Not at all! I absolutely love going solo. :D

Do you go for mulitple days or just a single day?

My shortest solo trip was 3 days at Wilderness. My longest trip was a combo Universal and Disney trip, which was 7 days.

I normally go down 5 times a year, with 4 of those trips being solo. My average trip is about 4 days.

Going solo in December. My third consecutive solo trip and WDW trip in the past three years.

Previous two trips spent a week, and this trip six days.

Did I get bored going solo? Heck no! In addition to WDW, spent time at Universal and SeaWorld. Just like WDW, Universal and SeaWorld cater to single folks like us.

I abused the single-rider line at Everest, Test Track, Mummy and rode Kraken 10-12 times in an hour by just raising my hand and saying "single rider!"

As for the experience at WDW, SeaWorld and Universal, it's the same as if you were with a family or with your significant other or with friends.

Best thing, nothing to tie you down. You go and do what you want to do and see, and sometimes throw your plans out the window and turn on a dime.

Loved my two previous stays. Did four parks in one day, taking advantage of extra magic morning and evening hours, and finished my evening way late at night at Pleasure Island and the now-closed Adventurers Club and Mannequins Dance Club.

Enjoy!

You will have a great time. I will be at the World SOLO from the 18th until the 23rd. This is my 2nd solo trip - the 1st one was in May and I ABSOLUTELY LOVED the freedom and flexabilty of not being tied down.

If you have any questions, just PM me. I was nervous going solo at 1st but after I did it, that is the way to go!!

I went for ten days in July this year and it was awesome albeit it was lame just going to the pool alone, BUT I worked at my own pace, didnt have to wait for anyone in the bathroom, skipped meals and/or ate at my own pace and slept in a few days. (i blame MK being open til 3AM the night before for me sleeping in until 4 the next day hahaha.

Let me add to the praises of doing a solo trip. I will be doing my second solo trip US/IOA & WDW for 9 days Nov 26-Dec 4. I like going with family and friends but every few years its time for a solo trip. I have never been bored.

I live in Orlando and I often just head down to the tourist area for an afternoon of "solo" time. Like everyone else says, it's so easy to do what you want to do and you get it done in a 10th of the time that it would normally take.

You'll find others there who are doing the same thing very easily by using the Single Rider lines and at the restaurants.

I also find it's easier to get food and drinks by eating at the bars. There, you can make friends with others and have people to talk to if you're looking to chat with folks.

The bartenders are always nice to chat with as well.

Have fun.

I went solo this summer. (Well, to DLP)

I must say I felt very aware of my self. Nobody looked at me funny or anything, it was just me.

On the upside, you do and see so much more. It was very much worth it! :sohappy:

I go solo all the time!! It's great!! You can actually take breaks at the parks maybe get box of popcorn and soda and sit down and enjoy a few minutes of people watching. :lookaroun I usually go back to hotel if staying close to parks and take break at the pool then regroup and head out for the evening. I don't go with a plan, if I can't decide where to go I'll usually wait and see which bus arrives first and go there. Last fall I went with my sister after going solo many times before and didn't do near as much as I do solo, had to do the where do you want to go for meals and the I don't care what do you want to go ect. ect. Have fun and enjoy!!

I went solo back in September, for my birthday actually. While I enjoy going with other people, I must say it was great being there by myself. I was completely free to going on any ride I wanted to, without objections from anyone else. I wish I was there more than one day though.

Most people traveling from a good distance away won't have this, but my trip was pretty cheap. I booked two nights at All-Star Movies, but was upgraded to the Beach Club. Since it was my birthday, I got free admission at the Magic Kingdom. And since I work for an airline, my airfare was free as well.

Anyways, going solo can be a bit weird at first, especially if it's your birthday, but it can be lots of fun too. I loved being able to go on any ride/attraction I wanted when I wanted, however many times I wanted. It also made meals a lot easier - though it was slightly strange sitting alone. I look forward to doing it again.

You got a MAJOR upgrade - to go from Movies to Beach Club, FREE? Just becase it was your bday?

I leave Wed for my third solo trip. I really enjoy it, the only places I don't find myself when I go solo are the water parks and the Ex-Downtown Disney. I max out at seven days though, by the seventh day I am ready to talk to someone again. It's an odd feeling to be surrounded by tens of thousands of people and only open your mouth to order food.

Another thumbs up for the solo'ers brigade. I went to WDW in May and have just come back from Disneyland resort this morning (back and missing the magic already). As others have pointed out you can do everything at your own pace, it's a fantastic way to vacate,

It was indeed a free upgrade. I can't remember if I ever indicated I was going to be there on my birthday. If not, or even so, it was a great upgrade. It was probably also the worst part of going alone - I couldn't share the upgrade with anyone. It was like seeing a UFO - I had to take a lot of pictures just to prove it to others.

I got an upgrade at All Star Music to a preferred room. Not my bday or anything. Dunno, they just told me at check-in. Maybe because I was a first timer or at least first time under my name (also first time on property regardless).
