That path not only cuts through ...... the waterway that the Liberty Belle takes when it's heading to dry dock back at North Service Area.

Isn't the Liberty Belle on a track thus making it impossible to go North Service Area. Not to mention the steel bridge the train uses that seperates the service area from the Rivers of America.

Liberty Belle has a guiderail for steering around the RoA, but it is free-floating in the water. It can be detatched from the rail and brought out through the canal and its lock, across Seven Seas Lagoon and Bay Lake to the dry dock. But it requires external help for steering and possibly propulsion away from RoA. They also probably wait for a calm weather day to make the move.

The railroad bridge rotates on a pivot to grant access to the canal. And a side note I heard from a former Railroad conductor, for safety reasons the only place you can activate the bridge rotation is by someone standing ON the bridge.

A few years ago the Liberty Belle had to undergo refurb and was taken out of service, but there wasn't available room in the dry dock. So it sat backstage behind BTMRR in the canal between the bridge and the lock. You could see it from the train as you crossed the bridge, or VERY briefly if you were driving by on Floridian Way outside the park.

EDIT: Hey... How'd that get back there... ;-)

A question for Lee or anyone who might know.

Is part of the reason for the Mine Train Ride being a much slower/low intensity coaster due to the fact that parts of the track will be built on top of the Utilidors and they will be unable to withstand any great dynamic forces upon them?

I've made a little video with the help of an old (1969) picture of the MK construction site.

Here one can clearly (bearing in mind it's an old and small picture) see part of the Utilidors. It seems like they're finishing the roof.

This picture is then morphing throu 3 different stages, the first one with "20.00 Leagues" in all it's glory, the second without it,
and the last one, where they've begun excavating the ground (and the wall is up).

Finally I've put in the 2025 "blue-print" and finish of with the original 1969 construction pic.

This shows that the Utilidors don't interfere with any of the new Fantasyland constuction.

Nice video, OBE... good to see my drawing make a cameo.

There's a lot of stuff on there, especially in Frontierland, where it's clear he's unaware of much of the backstage infrastructure that would have to be adjusted

Hey, I'm fairly aware of the backstage set up, but a lot of my site plan drawings are completely unrealistic, limitless, blue-sky fantasizing (and the one in question one was based in part on specific requests by someone else). For example, my MGM drawing re-arranges existing attractions like RnR, Fantasmic, Star Tours & Indy:

Here's an MK I did that reverses and expands the FLE:

Or transforming Downtown Disney into a DisneySea-like theme park:

They're not practical exercises in real-world expansions, just "what could have beens..." No real point to it, I just enjoy drawing them.
