Hi, Mouseketeers!
We're here to report on Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party! We attended last Friday, October 7th. We went as the original Mouseketeers from the first season, which was especially cool since that week was the fiftieth anniversary of the first episode of the Mickey Mouse Club!
We had sixteen Mouseketeers and others . . . what a group! And do we have a bunch to report to you. . . MNSSHP was better than EVER this year - wait till you see it!
Welcome to the Mouseke-factory! This is us working hard on our costumes a little while ago.
Here are Ryland and I being super excited the first time we tried on our costumes!
Ryland's dad, testing out the Mouseke-ears.
We began at Downtown Disney - as is typical this time of year, there are random sudden showers. See this downpour behind Caitlin. We waited it out in the pin shop, and never saw another drop all night.
Approaching the Magic Kingdom - Mickey pumpkins! The pumpkins that used to sit up there were just plain ones, slightly lighter orange. Now we have Mickey pumpkins! Yay!
*By the way, if you're still planning to attend a MNSSHP this year and are not attending the park that day, they DO begin letting you in the park at 4:00 PM even though the event doesn't officially start until 7. Take advantage of this time! It is the least crowded time and can be pretty fun while the day's crowd is ushered out.
On the way in, we were stopped by this CM who works on Jungle Cruise. He arranged us boys and girls and conducted us in a rousing round of the Mickey Mouse Club theme song. Hilarious! What a great start to the evening - it really got us in the festive mood. The CMs at this event were SO MUCH FUN! Not a cranky CM in sight. Little did we know, this was only the beginning of the singing we would do. . .
Outside at the TTC is a cute little ad for the party. Notice it says tickets available. . . at this point, no nights were yet sold out. Halloween night has since sold out completely.
Right before walking up the monorail ramps, there are some cuuuuute little displays to get you into the mood even more. When we came back through here at night, we were delighted to see white twinkle lights amongst the fall leaves! Here I am, getting more excited by the minute!
By this time it was about 4:30, so they were beginning to warn regular park guests that they would be ushered out by 6pm, and they mean it. This year, however, they did not herd the MNSSHP into any specific land to wait. Much fun! This allowed us some private time (or so it seemed) in the park. So it did close promptly at six - but not for us!!!
Are you excited yet??? SOOOO much more to come! Stay tuned!
