Masking tape?

I was just looking at some of my old movies from TON and I saw that the CMs were doing guest control using masking tape on the ground. Do they do this for the other parades? How un-Disney can you get?

This is a common practice at the parks. The tape provides for an easy, adaptable, and very removable way of directing the flow of guests during various shows/parades. The tape is removed immediately following the event.

Disney really can't do anything more permanent than the tape because the entertainment is always changing. I, for one, would rather have the tape than a bunch of filled-in sections of pavement from a more permanent form of direction control.

We had tape on the ground for the Jammin Jungle parade and I saw nothing un-Disney about it. Everyone knew what it was for and it was only put down before the parade started. It is placed down appropriately and is much better for the guests to simply know where the borders are without having fences and things in your view.

It's HarmonioUS, NOT HarmoniYOU.
There was always (well not always...just when it was getting time for the parade) tape on the ground at Epcot to... for Tapestry... Its not like anyone followed the masking tape arrows though... I almost was trampled to death in front of China one night

The masking tape comes across fine and does a good job I think. Its SpectroMagic at night when its a nightmare trying to maneuve...especially over by the liberty belle entrance on the riverfront....2 way traffic on that little footbridge is terrible, plus these humungus strollers these days...ugh!

but the day parade with the taping works quite well and is helpful, all the arrows pointing....at night the CMs sometimes dont know whats going on and make major congestions!

Disney's done this for YEARS now... many, MANY years...

what, pray tell, is un-Disney about it?

Would it be better if it were Mickey Mouse stickers?
