Sure, I could see the interpretation though at this point he seems more "Goth" than gay necessarily to me though there is some stereotypical gay characteristics. I could certainly see him ending up being a gay character though.
If Teen is indeed who he is pretty much confirmed to be the character is gay in the comics. So at this point there is no doubt that Joe Locke's portrayal is meant to come across as gay.

Really? I didn't get that at all. I just assumed they were rival witches who had scuffled before. Maybe I am just clueless in not reading signs.
There were certainly some ex-lover vibes come off from their interactions. Not sure if that was intentional or not, ie part of the story, but it could be seen that way.

Did you watch the interview…. Or know Audrey Plaza’s personality…. She tends to always display this sarcastic sense of humor in public
I’m quite familiar with her work. I think she’s terrific. She’s not the only one making these comments.

With the larger than life personalities involved and the opportunities to exploit the inherent subtext of the subject matter, it would be negligence to not lean into this area.

That interviewer also kind of set the cast up by asking if it would be gay. If they say "NO" they will come across as homophobic or fearful of representation and if they say "Yes!" they are destined to get the clicks and rage of the anti-woke crowd.
Can't they just say,
I think we made a show that everybody will like. Everyone worked really hard and we're really happy with how it turned out. I think everyone's going to really love it.
