both can be applicable
I know several people in creative and R&D roles at both major Orlando theme park resorts. They may or may not be my coworkers, but what matters is that they have actual knowledge - and think he’s a joke. Some of them even enjoy messing with him, so let’s leave it at that.

With how crap the job market is right now and how small the industry is, it’s highly unlikely anyone who actually knows something - especially those under NDAs - would risk their career by giving him anything real.

Remember when we all were wondering if this would happen lol? Universal seems 100% focused on USF.

Good. Long live marvel super hero island. Could use a small touch up though.

They recently did the waterfront and the Spiderman marquee? I think something with Storm Force too. The popcorn stand was redone and the Cafe as well so what do you see it needing?

#1 on my list is the super cooool 80s electric guitar rifts blasting in the streets. They're so cool, they play them over and over again louder and louder. Great time just to hang out in that land and hear generic axe riffs! They should dump the third motif and just play the first and second over and over again. Get a real feel for the land!!

Yeah this is definitely not happening any time soon. Seems like USF will be the focus for years following EU's opening. They will have to figure out a replacement for Lost Continent when IoA receives some attention.

I used to think this would happen, but the upcoming Captain America movie reminded me of the Hulk movie. Universal hasn't even given or made a deal to give Hulk's and Namor's movie rights to Disney. I don't see things being different for the parks. I wish I was wrong so we could get new Marvel attractions at WDW.

Whatever replaces Spiderman in Universal Japan is probably a good indicator of what may happen to this land.

I don't think it is. The USJ contract had an expiration date (that's why it closed exactly 20 years after opening) but the Orlando contract is infinite.

I think his point is that if they re-theme Spiderman in USJ, they could eventually use the same theme in IOA.

Pokémon is the rumored theme for USJ, and it is just about the worst kept secret in theme parks that Pokémon is replacing the simpsons.

Universal has many fish to fry before they even dream of touching marvel. Who knows if it’s forever, but we at least have a good long while to enjoy MHSI.

Yes, I understand that point, but my point is that the only reason it is going into Spiderman at USJ is because the contract expired and they needed a replacement anyways. It will not be a simple retheme of the ride system from what I know.

But I think if they designed a full retrofit of the attraction (which I believe is an exact copy of the Florida version) then that design money is better spent if it is then cloned in Florida. Universal loves clones more than Syfo Dias.

We don't know what the replacement for USJ's Spider-Man will look like, but more importantly, they aren't going to shut down MSHI just for the sake of cloning it, especially when they aren't legally obligated to do so. Whatever money you'd be saving through existing R&D is immediately going in the trash because you then have to retheme an entire land that hadn't been hurting the bottom line.
