Marvel Land in DCA?

If Marvel is really going to take up everything north of Hollywood Blvd. and beyond the berm + ToT, then they should just drop the "Hollywood" concept entierly and rebuild the entire land. You could move Hyperion and Playhouse Disney somwhere ese and not have this awkward, half-blvd, half backlot set running down the middle. It was also always a poor idea to build a Hollywood area an hour's drive away from the real thing IMO.

They're also a real working studio, something Disney's fake Backlot never was.
Unlike DHS that was suppose to be a working studio (and failed big time), DCA's little patch of Hollywood was never intended to be a real working studio but rather a small land with a couple of Hollywood themed shows/rides. Nothing more.

I dont get though that it never came to them to re-introduce the studio idea, because its not a bad idea and they could do a lot of telivision stuff there too to at least have something guests can see

Universal Studios Hollywood is part of Hollywood, not about it. There is no trying to recreate, it just is and it's authenticity as a studio creates the context for chaos and no over arching theme.
It is part of Hollywood and they do try to recreate old Hollywood via it's sets and scenes from famous movies. It pays homage to the movie industry that it resides in.

So whats the latest on the Marvel Land project is there new information on it?

Eight months after you posted that question, and you get your wish. The Miceage Update this week explains the focus for Marvel will now be the northern end of Hollywood Land instead of the empty parking lot behind Tower of Terror. http://micechat.com/132030-disneyland-rumor-update-one-disney/

And then @sponono88 was kind enough to show us the map that another website, Mouseinfo, made based on the big Miceage Update this week.

Marvel Land expansion for DCA is now slated to go into the orange areas shown above, once the new bus loading zones and skybridge over Harbor Blvd. are completed as shown in the purple "Parking Phase 1" and blue and pink walkway and guest access zones above.

It's a really smart way to use that space I think! And opens up a lot of possibilities.

I hope they put in permanent security checks. The temporary tents are getting embarrassing. Maybe they can put in that center fountain?

If that's the new plan Guardians of the Tower now makes even less sense if that's even possible.

I'm struggling with the Marvel expansion on the north side of Hollywood Land.:cautious: There's something about it that doesn't add up, especially the narrowed egress between the Esplanade and Harbor Blvd, but I guess I'll have wait for more specific details before flat out saying that I'm not buying it.
