I'd like to see a ROM Space Knight movie. I hear Hasbro is working on one. The comic book went with the action figure from the 80s.

I don't think Marvel owns the rights to ROM. The comics were a license if I understand it correctly.

Same with Micronauts which is why some of the characters in Quantumania were related to them but not the actual characters.

Wonder Man will reportedly resume filming after Thanksgiving and will be under the new Marvel Spotlight series banner.

I think a lot of Marvel’s new films are going under the spotlight banner, which will not only mean “standalone,” but also, “lower budget.”

Deadline reports Wonder Man is set for 10 episodes on Disney+:

"Abdul-Mateen II most recently reprised the role of Black Manta in the 2023 DC film Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom alongside Jason Momoa. Up next he can be seeing playing the titular superhero in Marvel’s Wonder Man, a 10-episode series for Disney+. Additional notable credits include Ambulance (2022), The Matrix Resurrections (2021), Candyman (2021) and Aquaman (2018)."

Using the spotlight banner for Marvel’s new films is a smart move.
standalone, lower-budget films can focus more on character development and unique stories. reduces financial risk, allows creative freedom, and helps avoid audience fatigue from the interconnected MCU.
It also opens the door to exploring diverse genres and attracting different audiences.

Show sounds promising, has potential to be a hit.

The project brings together Destin Daniel Cretton, who directed Shang-Chi, and Andrew Guest from Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Wonder Man is expected to blend action, comedy, and might feature meta-commentary, where the character comments on his own storytelling. This includes breaking the fourth wall, speaking directly to the audience, or making jokes about the story’s genre and conventions.

Sounds interesting

Sounds like She-Hulk.

The premise of She Hulk was excellent, the execution was the problem. A goofy legal sitcom with various super powered beings and fourth wall breaking jokes would have been a lot of fun if they’d hadn’t leaned into misogyny discussions so massively.

I don't know. My wife liked She Hulk a lot, for those reasons.

Yeah, I think where She-Hulk went wrong was trying too hard to be part of the broader MCU. A villain/case of the weak comic procedural would have been fine. Also it seems like they could/should have spent about 1/10 what they did on it.

The above quote about the Wonder Man series makes it sound to me like they're going for a Deadpool-type version of The Boys? IDK.

My questions:
  • Will Baron Zemo be part of Wonder Man's origin, like in the comics? (Haven't seen Daniel Brühl's name attached to this.)
  • Will Hank McCoy/Beast be featured at all? (Since mutants are now soft of in the MCU.)
  • Is Elizabeth Olsen part of this? Scarlet Witch and Vision have strong connections to Wonder Man in the comics.
  • Is this the founding of the West Coast Avengers in the MCU?
