Marketplace Causeway construction

Photo update as of Tuesday, Feb 3. The construction wall at the foot of the causeway nearest T-Rex Café has been extended out to the first planter, probably to facilitate finishing of the causeway entrance there. A cast member said today they were hoping to open the Causeway the weekend of 14 Feb.

Photo update as of Tuesday, Feb 10. The four kiosks at the T-Rex end of the causeway were being outfitted with shelves and merchandise in preparation for Friday's opening. The kiosk in the back of this photo appeared to be a pin station. The speakers on the causeway were working today.

This signpost was installed at the Rainforest Café end of the causeway.

Flower planters from last week's photos were replaced with these, as seen below.

Are they planning on relocating Guest Relations? If my bearings are correct on where this signpost is, it's saying that Guest Relations is across the causeway when in fact the current GR is to the left, less than halfway around the water. Going across the causeway would mean a long backtrack. This signpost might indicate that it'll be moving to the Landing in the near future...

I wouldn't be surprised if they move it more central like The Landing. Right now there's that one and then a smaller one by DisneyQuest, but they don't have all the amenities that the bigger one does so if they locate it more centrally people won't have to walk as far to get there. I hope they move ECV and wheelchair rentals too because that is only in Marketplace right now and I have had many awkward interactions where guests are horrified when I show them how far they have to walk just to get something so they don't have to walk.

Perhaps this is what the Big open area on the causeway with the brown poles is for.

I don't think they'd put GR on the Causeway itself. It's probably going somewhere in the Landing section. A centralized GR with wheelchair/ECV rentals makes sense since almost everyone arriving when the project is done will arrive either into one of the two garages or at the centralized bus depot in between the garages.

(Heck, they could even build a temporary semi-centralized GR until the central part nearest the bus depot is done and they can move into a permanent even-more-centralized location)

The Florida Bath Co., shown below, is owned by Basin in the Marketplace.

The colored circles on the Flour and Sugar kiosk are round containers the customer selects to put the cookies in. They are all the same, just different colors.

Kate & Leo sell toys and novelties.
