Hi everyone! Just got back from Florida (post disney depression's already set in ;-; ) and I just wanted to ask if anyone was at the parks on the 6th, the day the Blue Angels flew over? My marching band got to play in the 2:30 precursor parade to FoF! It was truly the most magical thing I've ever done, and it also helped that we got to be escorted around backstage :) I don't know if I can say much, but boy, was it INCREDIBLE! If anyone knows if I can say something, I want to spill allll the details haha

My marching band was the 2nd one to play in the 2:30 precursor parade to FoF! Great, thank you! I made a little list of all I got to see- minus the actual music performance area, which was mostly just changing rooms and water haha.

-Festival of Fantasy floats up close
-Disembodied character heads of Pluto, Goofy, Mr. Smee, and a dwarf haha
-Extra Pirates of the Caribbean boats (At least 20! Could they have been the old ones?)
-The entire Electrical Water Pageant!!!!!
-The warehouses that hold Pirates of the Caribbean and Splash Mountain
-The animatronics that are under refurbishment from Jungle Cruise- I know some people said that the rhino was gone for touchups for sure, but I didn't see it- just a lot of elephants, mostly. Got to touch one! Just couldn't figure out why they were just hanging around outside the ride doors.
-Some parade performers, of course

It was so exciting and beautiful. I only cried like three times, haha. So much fun, I want to go back again someday!!!!

Awesome stuff! I am a band director and have always wanted to take my guys to WDW to compete or march. Someday hopefully when the budget allows for it! I'm curious about the disembodied heads - did you see Cast Members IN THE SUIT without the heads on? Or just the heads sitting around somewhere?

I hope your band can go someday! With the heads, I only saw the heads and no headless cast members- maybe it's because they knew we were coming through?

Yeah, I wouldn't have mentioned anything. Did the march in Disney thing years ago. I have a very hard time thinking that they just let you "walk around" backstage. Disney prides themselves on keeping anything behind the scenes, just that. So yeah.

This is a great experience, but sometimes, it's better to just hang onto what you know.

I'm sure that you broke some sort of contractual agreement by your post disclosing what you saw. Just because a member of this forum told you to go ahead and spill it, doesn't mean they were right. Hopefully, Disney doesn't see this, cause hey, you could also make a case that your band was the last one from your school that was able to go! Doubt it'd go that far, but hey, we've seen weirder things happen.

I don't think the poster has shared anything that isn't known about. I saw similar things when we did the Keys to the Kingdom tour a few years ago. We were told we couldn't take pictures, but nothing was said about talking about what we saw. So unless the OP posts pictures of backstage, took pictures of backstage, or was running around in places they should not have been then I think they are fine.

KTTK and a marching band in a warm up area to set up for a parade are 2 completely separate things. You're paying a premium to do KTTK. Marching band was chosen from auditions and such, receive discounted rates, and are only back there to really warm up and line up for their parade.

I know that I paid for the tour and they were there for marching band, but they weren't made to wear blind folds so the OP couldn't stop themselves from seeing what was around them. On the tour we were in the same area that the parade lines up in (we went in and out of the area where the parade comes out of Frontierland) and there was a lot to see in the area. And a lot to see even if you are standing just in one spot. Like I said just talking about it doesn't seem like a big deal, posting pictures (which they haven't done, at least not on here) would be a different story. Also if the OP was walking around in areas they weren't supposed to would be a different story too.

Now, now, we know that Adam the Woo was there recently.... ;)

Oh gee, this thread sort of blew up :depressed: I just wanted everyone to know that my phone was turned off the whole time, and I only went where we were directed to go by the cast members (in fact, I was asking them questions the whole time lol). They never said anything about not telling, so I just wanted to throw a few observations out there, since I knew that there had been some speculation about Jungle Cruise for sure on the forum, and a few other cool things. If there is any further concern, I can take this thread down, and I'm sorry for potentially throwing out info.

There is nothing wrong with what you said on here. It sounds like you were following the rules about being backstage. I'm glad you had a great experience with your band!

To be honest... You are safe. There are many, many ex CM's that have posted much more details about what can be found backstage, what goes on backstage in a variety of online sites, in books and in other social media. Theres very little mystery or unknown details hidden from Disney fans about backstage areas anymore. No ones going to seek you out and penalize you for the details you let slip. ;)
