Well, folks, once more we divide by 2 and send half of our participants on their merry ways. Round 3 brought upsets, blowouts, buzzer-beaters (er, that is, tight races), and trouble for all three remaining #1 seeds. At the end of the day, only 8 are left standing. Let's take a look at what happened:
In the Magic Kingdom, it was the end of the line for the top 2 seeds. The 999 Happy Haunts continued their dominant ways, sending the Kingdom's central landmark back into the storybooks; as the bracket's #5 seed, the Haunted Mansion is now one win away from a Final Four berth. Meanwhile, the Battle of the Mountains, Part 2, saw 2nd-seeded Space Mountain brought back to Earth by the Mildew Fest itself, Splash Mountain. Brer Rabbit & Crew move into the Elite 8 having beaten both of the other two Mountains.

At Animal Kingdom, the #1 seed again found itself under seige from a scrappy lower seed, but this time, the upset just barely happened; Flik and the gang sink a shot at the buzzer (almost literally!) to keep their hopes alive, uprooting the Tree of Life. The 'Bug's Life' crew has won its last two matches by a total of 3 votes. In the other matchup, the Cinderella story to this point put up a good fight early, but just couldn't hang with the mighty DINOSAUR, as the 2 seed finally ends Festival of the Lion King's unlikely run. It'll be 4 vs. 2 for the title of "Nahtazu!"

Over at the Studios, Sorcerer Mickey continued to cast a spell over his opposition, easily dispatching The Great Movie Ride. Things were a bit closer in the other match, as Rock 'n' Roller Coaster and Tower of Terror went back and forth a few times in a clash of the titans. Ultimately, the Steven Tyler contingent beat the Rod Serling crowd, as a burst of votes gave the Coaster a three-vote win. Despite the nearly identical seeds, it looks like David vs. Goliath in the final, as Aerosmith: the Ride will be the clear favorite.

Epcot saw one close race and one runaway in the semis; it also saw our final #1 seed eliminated. After shutting out its first two opponents, Spaceship Earth fell behind early to IllumiNations, and despite a big comeback by the Golf Ball to tie things up late, the Light Show managed to hold on and spring the upset by a single vote. The #2 seed had no such trouble, as Test Track notched its third straight blowout to move into the final.
