Marathon Weekend

I'm going to be at the World for the weekend of the WDW Marathon, January 8-10th. I was wondering if it will be a nightmare with the crowd situation.

We were there during a marathon one year and didnt notice any major problems...Ive heard that transportation can be an issue though...with some area's blocked off.

Im sure someone else with first hand experience can help.

I was there last year on the marathon weekend, and we didn't know the marathon was taking place until after, when they were all on the busses, heading back to the hotels. The crowds in the parks were not bad at all, just beware of the marathon route, as it will take up some space in the parks, though lines hopefully won't be bad, as I'll be there that weekend too!

We have been there twice during the marathon and it has never been a problem. The only thikng I can't understand is how the runners keep themselves from stoping and jumping onto an attraction. Too tempting:animwink:

Ive been up the past 3 years and its usually only crowded the day of. The days following are never crowded and the parks are empty.

My sister is running in it and I'm hoping she will post a report when she returns. They are starting at Epcot and her finish point is the road leaving Magic Kingdom (she's doing the half marathon). I know alot of the runners may not be in the parks the day of because they won't be able to move; so hopefully it won't be too crowded; however she did say something about Disney not accepting any more entries; they were 'sold out'.
